Call Description

The Colored Pencil Society of America invites you to show the world what you can create with the vibrant, versatile medium of colored pencil. Submit your original artwork created 100% in colored pencil to our 34th Annual International Exhibition, to be displayed in Yavapai College, Prescott gallery, Prescott, Arizona

Juror

Erin Joyce is a curator and scholar of contemporary. She is a Faculty Member, School of Art, Herberger Institute of Design and t Arts - Arizona State University.

Awards

More than $15,000 in cash awards including a $5000 cash award and CIPPY trophy for the Best of Show winner.

Acceptance and Notifications

  • Accepted artists will be notified via the email address associated with their CaFÉ account.
  • A list of selected artists will be posted at the CPSA website soon after May 1, 2026. 
  • Award winners will be notified by phone or email in early July.

Application Requirements

Before entering, read the prospectus completely and carefully for additional information and requirements.

  • Artwork must be 100% colored pencil on a 2-dimensional, manufactured surface not altered by artist.
  • Use of other media or artist-prepared surface disqualifies the entry.
  • Artwork must be solely the original concept and design of the submitting artist.
  • Artwork must have been completed during or after 2023 and not previously displayed in any CPSA International Exhibition.
  • Each artist may submit one, two or three works for consideration. Selection is limited to no more than one work per artist.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all artists 18 years or older, regardless of geographic location
  • No preferential treatment given to CPSA members over non-members.

Additional Cost
The artist is responsible for shipping to and from cartage company. Selected artists will be notified of acceptance and shipping instructions after May 1, 2026.

Commitment to Ship
By submitting an entry, you are committing to ship your artwork, if selected, art must remain in the gallery for the full duration of the CPSA exhibition. Any artist who fails to ship a selected entry may be barred from entering CPSA exhibitions for the next two years.

Disqualification
Initial selection by the juror does not guarantee that your work will appear in the show. A final in-person review of the artwork is made to ensure it complies with execution, framing and other requirements (see prospectus) and is of the same quality as depicted by the digital image. A selected entry may be disqualified at any time for failure to meet specifications.
