Call Description

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to all US residents 18 years of age or older, excluding fotofoto gallery artists. Any photographic medium including
digital and alternative processes will be accepted. No AI images accepted.
The maximum height or width of framed work cannot exceed 30 inches. Works previously exhibited at fotofoto gallery are ineligible for submission. Please note that we will not accept an entry with any substantial artificial intelligence rendering. Free-standing pieces cannot be accepted. Accepted works must be delivered by Friday February 6, 2026.


SUBMISSIONS 

All entries must be submitted via the CaFE system. Mail-in entries will not be considered. Images must conform to CaFE formatting
standards. Instructions can be found in the CaFE help section.
File Type: JPEG or JPG only.
File Dimensions: 2,000 pixels or greater on the longest side.
File Size: Under 5 MB.
Color Profile: sRGB
 

FOR ACCEPTED ENTRIES 

Approximately 30 photographs will be chosen for a 26 day-long exhibition from March 13 - April 5, 2026, to be hung in our gallery and online on our website. Shipping information will be provided to artists selected for participation upon completion of the jury process. To ensure the cohesiveness of the exhibition, we request that work be framed in simple black or white frames with neutral museum quality mats (no colors, please). 

All framed pieces must be have D-Rings placed 1 1/2 inches from the top of the frame to utilize our gallery hanging system and use only plexi or acrylic glazing. NO GLASS ALLOWED.

ABOUT fotofoto Gallery 

fotofoto gallery was formed in 2003 by a group of fine art photographers desiring to create a center where photographic visions could be exchanged.  Now in our 21st year, fotofoto gallery continues to be a place for traditional black and white, digital, experimental and alternative processes. The gallery sponsors an extensive calendar of exhibitions, workshops, salons, competitions and special events. The gallery is located in the heart of Huntington, New York and is open Thursday through Sunday and by appointment. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

ABOUT THE JUROR 

Alex Ferrone • Owner, Director, and Curator at Alex Ferrone Gallery.

Based on the North Fork of Long Island, NY, Alex Ferrone Gallery represents regional to international mid-career and emerging artists working in photo-based art, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. Owner, Director, and Curator Alex Ferrone has mounted numerous exhibitions and presented hundreds of artists in the Gallery since 2013. In addition to her Gallery, Alex Ferrone is a fine art and commercial aerial photographer whose works have been included in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums nationally, and internationally in Italy and Spain. Additional accolades for Ferrone's works include awarded grants and prestigious regional and international awards including Budapest International Foto Awards, Julia Margaret Cameron Award, and International Photography Awards, among others. Her photographs have been widely published including Wine Spectator, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair Magazine, and Pinhole Journal, and more. Her works are held in private collections in the United States and abroad.

FEES AND DEADLINES

FEES: 5 images - $45. Images 6 -15 may be submitted for an additional charge of $6 per image. 

DEADLINES: All entries must be submitted by Friday January 16, 2026. Midnight (standard mountain time) 

Notifications: Sunday January 25, 2026
Framed photographs: Friday February 6, 2026 
Exhibition dates: February 12 - March 7, 2026
Reception: Saturday February 21, 2026 - 5 to 7pm.

AWARDS & SPONSORS

Juror, Alex Ferrone, will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
$300 1st place, $200 2nd place and $100 3rd place.

1st Place Award is generously sponsored by The Huntington Art Center.
