Call Description

"Elegance in Color" is a juried competition celebrating elegance as a visual and conceptual discipline. The award honors artists whose work demonstrates restraint, coherence, and clarity, where every element feels intentional and nothing is excessive. Color is approached not as spectacle but as a measured force that supports structure, rhythm, and atmosphere.

The competition welcomes submissions across all media. Artists are invited to consider elegance as a practice: the economy of form, the precision of choice, and the confidence of a resolved composition. Submissions should reflect a refined visual language in which color, material, and composition work in concert rather than competition.

Elegance in Color seeks work that sustains attention through balance and intelligence rather than immediacy. These are pieces that reveal their strength over time: subtle, deliberate, and assured. Selected awardees will be recognized for their formal discipline and sensitivity of vision. Winning works will also be featured through publication and artist interviews, extending thoughtful engagement with the artists’ processes and perspectives.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • 6–20 images of recent work (JPEG or PNG)
  • Artist statement (150–300 words)
  • Short bio (100–150 words)
  • Link to website or portfolio (if applicable)
  • Contact information

Works in progress or series excerpts are acceptable if they represent your current practice. Please ensure all images are clear, properly cropped, and accurately represent the work.
