By applying to ArtPop’s Artist Cohort 2026 Open Call, you (the “Applying Artist”) agree and consent to be bound by the following:

1. You have fully read the complete Submission Guidelines for ArtPop’s Artist Cohort 2026 Open Call, available both here on the CaFÉ portal and at ArtPopStreetGallery.com/Apply
2. Your application fully complies with all criteria outlined in the Submission Guidelines for ArtPop’s Artist Cohort 2026 Open Call, including:
   • Artist Eligibility:
     • Residential Requirements: the applying artist agrees that they currently reside in one of the following regional counties: Cabarrus (NC), Catawba (NC), Cleveland (NC), Gaston (NC), Iredell (NC), Lincoln (NC), Mecklenburg (NC), Rowan (NC), Stanly (NC), Union (NC), Lancaster (SC), or York (SC).
     • Age Requirements: the applying artist agrees that they are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older, OR a high school senior student enrolled in their final year of high school and planning to study the arts through higher education after graduation.
     • Social Media Requirements: the applying artist agrees that, if they are an adult applicant, they have both an active artist website and a social media profile related to their artist practice, or, if they are a high school senior applicant, they have a social media profile related to their artist practice.
     • ArtPop “Alumni” from Past Program Years: the applying artist agrees that they have not been juried into any past year of ArtPop’s Artist Cohort (previously known as the 'Cities Program’), as artists from past program years are not eligible to reapply at this time.
   • Requirements for Juried-In Artists - the applying artist agrees that all 24 juried-in artists will be required to participate in ways listed below, and failure to do so will result in their removal from the program, incurring fees to cover billboard printing costs:
     • Engage with ArtPop’s Mission - Juried-in artists will be required to volunteer 1-4 volunteer hours and participate in a community-based Capstone Project. Traditionally, program artists who have participated in ArtPop’s events and activities have made more connections and benefit more from the program’s offerings.
     • Provide High-Resolution Artwork Images - Juried-in artists must provide high-resolution image files (both un-cropped & cropped) to be used for ArtPop billboards & displays.
     • Attend the Private Reveal Event - All 24 juried-in artists are expected to join on April 22nd, 2026, where they will be honored and welcomed into the program.
     • Participate on Social Media - Each month during the program duration, all juried-in artists will be required to make at least one public social media feed post about your involvement in the program.
     • Website Acknowledgement - Selected artists with websites will be required to to add content to their website about their participation in the Artist Cohort program, with a live link directing visitors to ArtPop’s website.
   • Artwork Requirements
     • One Artwork Submission Per Artist - the applying artist agrees that they are submitting exactly one (1) original artwork, and not a group or collaborative submission.
     • Artwork Must be Original and Meet Content Regulations - the applying artist agrees that they are the sole original creator of their submission artwork; that their submission artwork does not contain plagiarized images, copyright infringement, or paid commission work; that their submission artwork was not created with the assistance of generative AI (artificial intelligence) software, and that their submission artwork does not depict smoking, nudity, slander, religion or copyrighted brand images, logos, and characters per billboard regulations.
     • Artwork Must Be Properly Cropped & Formatted - the applying artist agrees that their submission artwork is properly cropped and formatted according to the following criteria: file size is 5mb or less; cropped to these exact dimensions: 7300px wide x 2200px high at 300DPI; and does not include the rectangular ArtPop brand label.
   • About the Jury Process - the applying artist understands the following:
     • ArtPop’s Artist Cohort is a juried opportunity; that all eligible submissions will be blind-reviewed by a jury of artists and art-lovers after the application deadline; and that jurors will not have access to the applying artists’ identities, only the artwork image.
     • All artworks are first reviewed based on whether or not they meet the Submission Guidelines; and that artworks that do not meet the Submission Guidelines are ineligible and will be disqualified.
     • Eligible artworks are then judged based on their successful artistic execution and based on potential impact as a public art display; and that artworks are considered both individually and collectively to curate a cohesive group with a variety of artistic mediums represented.
3. Final Determination - the applying artists agrees that final determination of works accepted into ArtPop’s Artist Cohort program will remain with ArtPop and their jurors, and that submission of the application artwork pursuant to this Open Call does not guarantee acceptance into the program. The applying artist will be notified via email and/or phone call if their artwork has been accepted or declined for the program.
4. Usage of Artwork Imagery - if the applying artist's submission artwork is selected for ArtPop’s Artist Cohort program, the applying artist agrees to allow ArtPop to reproduce and display images of their accepted submission artwork in the following ways:
   • On public billboards and “out-of-home” advertising displays owned by ArtPop’s media partners during the program duration, where formatting may result in variations to colors or dimensions of the originally-submitted version of the artwork, and that these variations shall not be grounds for rescission or termination of these terms or conditions.
   • On ArtPop’s digital media platforms indefinitely (including but not limited to ArtPop’s website and social media profiles);
   • On ArtPop’s printed and digital collateral /marketing materials indefinitely (including but not limited to commemorative posters, post cards, and event displays)
5. Ownership of Artwork and ArtPop Display Materials - if the applying artist’s submission artwork is selected for ArtPop’s Artist Cohort program, the applying artist agrees to the following:
   • Except as provided herein, the applying artist reserves all ownership and reproduction rights of their submission artwork.
   • After the program duration, ArtPop will retain all tangible, printed reproductions of the submission artwork produced for billboards and “out-of home” displays, and that ArtPop may repurpose these printed reproductions for its “Sustainability & Fashion’ program to create works of fashion and ArtPop merchandise such as tote bags and other similar items that ArtPop may sell or gift to donors, with all proceeds benefiting ArtPop’s nonprofit mission
     The applying artist acknowledges that billboards and other “out-of-home” media displays are inherently public and that, as a result, ArtPop shall not be liable to the applying artist for any use or reproduction of the submission artwork by third parties while it is displayed on billboards or other "out-of-home" media.
6. Miscellany - Except as provided herein, these terms and conditions constitute the entire understanding between the parties. Its terms can be modified only by an instrument in writing signed by both parties. A waiver of any breach of any of the provisions of these terms and conditions shall not be construed as a continuing waiver of other breaches of the same or other provisions hereof. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflicts of law principles. ArtPop reserves the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time as it sees fit and your continued use of this website and the Call for Entry will signify your acceptance of any adjustment to these terms and conditions. If there are any changes to these terms and conditions, ArtPop will announce that these changes have been made on the Call for Entry home page and on other key pages on the site. You are therefore advised to re-read this statement on a regular basis.
