Call Description

Calling all Texas Sculptors! The ArtCentre of Plano invites you to submit your work for Texas Sculpts V.

Whether you're an emerging artists or a seasoned maker of art, this exhibition offers the opportunity to showcase your work in a meaningful way.

About the Juror:
Jeanne Chvosta, Director of Collections Management and Conservation, The Rachofsky Collection at The Warehouse.

Jeanne Chvosta was born and raised just outside of Chicago and moved to Dallas in 1973. She studied art at Western Illinois University and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas in Denton. Over the years, her career has spanned a wide range of roles within the art world, including work with art galleries, museums, nonprofit organizations and artists.

Her professional experience includes working with Barry Whistler Gallery, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Meadows Museum, as well as supporting arts-focused nonprofits organizations. Jeanne has been actively involved with the Emergency Artist Support League (EASL), Dallas Artists Research and Exhibition (DARE) and other arts initiatives. She currently serves as Director of Collections Management and Conservation for The Rachofsky Collection at The Warehouse.

In addition to her professional work, Jeanne serves on the board of Friends of Willis Winters Park and is active in her neighborhood association. She brings a broad perspective, deep institutional knowledge, and a genuine love of the arts to her role as a juror.

Sale of Art: 

All Sales of work will be processed through The ArtCentre of Plano - Artist agrees to make a 30% donation to The ArtCentre of Plano.

Work to be delivered: By Monday, July 6 to the ArtCentre of Plano, 902 E 16th St, Plano

VIP Opening Reception: Friday, July 10, 6-8 pm. Accepted Artists are highly encouraged to attended.

Community Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 4-6 pm. Accepted Artists are highly encouraged to attend.

Lunch & Learn Artist Talks to be scheduled during exhibition.

Pick Up Party followed by load out: Saturday, August 29, 2-4 pm.

Application Requirements

Eligibility:
All sizes and mediums of sculpture will be considered. Art will be displayed both indoors and out. Work must be original and created by the submitting artist.

Image Submission Guidelines:

Submit a minimum of one and a maximum of three JPEG images per entry.

Up to three images per artwork are allowed. Limit of three entries per artist.

File format: JPEG only

Recommended minimum image size: 1200 pixels on the longest side

Name your image files using this format: LastName_FirstName_Title.jpg

Entry Fee:

$25 per entry.

Display Requirements:
All accepted artwork must be ready for display upon delivery. Please mention any specific installation needs in application (artist must be on site, weight requires lift, etc.)

3D work must be stable and suitable for pedestal or floor display.

The ArtCentre reserves the right to decline work that is improperly prepared for display, arrives damaged, or differs significantly from the submitted image.

Eligibility Criteria

Only Sculptors working and living in Texas will be considered.
