Call Description
The 14th Annual Show will feature 12 sculptures spread throughout our commercial downtown district. Stipend per sculpture is $1200 for a two year stay. Placed on private property which is visible to pedestrians and vehicles travelling through the area, they are in the midst of many murals and historic properties in this community settled in 1872. The first tourism event to showcase the art will be the Dogwood Trails Festival where thousands of guests descend on our downtown for a street festival where music, art and fun come together on last weeks of March, 2026 and 2027. Festivals happen throughout the year and the sculptures are highlighted in all tourism maps and directions.
Because sculptures are spread throughout the downtown area and many will be located on highways and roads where vehicles pass by, the more predominant in style, color and size makes a difference in viewership.
The Dogwood Arts Council, Inc’s mission is to bring art of all kinds to Palestine and Anderson County area. Anonymous Jurors from the ArtTracks Sculpture Committee will review and select the art. The Committee will work with the artist to place the piece in the best possible location for the art. This show of 12 will join 1w1 others overlapping from 2025 - 2027.
