Call Description

The City of Pawtucket, RI invites artists to submit existing sculptures to be considered for purchase to be sited in the Riverwalk Sculpture Park along the Seekonk River. Sculptures will be temporally located in Slater Park while the Riverwalk is under construction.  This call is limited to artists based in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Pawtucket Riverwalk Sculpture Park is envisioned as a vibrant, eclectic public art destination that celebrates creativity, culture, and community along the riverfront and integrates art, nature, and recreation into the everyday public experience.

Sculptures may vary in style, scale, and material, fostering an atmosphere that is both inspiring and approachable for residents and visitors. 

Application Requirements

All applications must be submitted through CaFÉ. Artists may submit up to three sculptures for consideration. Your application should include the following:

Statement of Interest
Please include an Artist Statement. Your statement should share information about you as an artist and the inspiration behind each sculpture you’re submitting.

Resume
Describe your experience as a sculptor. Include your training, exhibitions, and locations of public art projects.

Images of Work
Artists must submit photos of their own original sculptures. Images should accurately reflect the artwork’s current condition. Please submit no more than three (3) images per piece with multiple views of 3 dimensional pieces preferred.

 Sculpture Description
For each sculpture submitted, please include the following details:

1. Title
2. Height
3. Width
4. Depth
5. Weight
6. Purchase Price
7. Material

Artist Selection Process
Entries will be evaluated based on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability in an outdoor setting. All artists will be notified of the committee’s decisions once the selection process is complete.

Eligibility Criteria

This Call for Art is open to artists based in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut who demonstrate a history of sculptor production.

Artists may submit up to three (3) sculpture pieces for consideration, but all must be submitted as individual applications by art piece.
