Call Description
The Kollection invites artists worldwide to submit work for its second annual group exhibition, to be presented at its gallery space in Brooklyn, made possible by a lasting commitment to the arts from SAA + Associated NYC. Additionally, an unrestricted grant of $5,000 will be awarded to one participating artist (courtesy of Four Four Entertainment). This open call is a part of The Kollection’s ongoing work as a nonprofit arts organization and reflects its commitment to supporting emerging artistic voices and fostering long-term relationships with artists.
The exhibition invites artists to consider rebellion and what it means to resist socially, politically, culturally, or personally, while also recognizing resilience as a sustaining force. Rather than framing rebellion solely as rupture or refusal, the exhibition considers resistance as an intentional practice characterised by endurance, adaptation, care, and persistence over time.
This initiative explores how rebellion and resilience operate in the present moment, particularly as resistance becomes increasingly mediated, circulated, and aestheticised across digital platforms. It asks how artists navigate this condition and how acts of defiance are maintained transformed or reimagined without losing their urgency.
Grant Information
One artist selected for the exhibition will receive an unrestricted 5,000 dollar grant, provided by our benefactor Four Four Entertainment. The grant is awarded in recognition of an artistic practice that meaningfully engages resilience as an active generative force within the exhibition’s broader focus on rebellion and resistance.
All exhibiting artists are automatically considered for the grant. The grant is not awarded for a single artwork but in recognition of an ongoing artistic practice.
Selection Process
Artists will be selected by The Kollection curatorial team. Selection is based on conceptual alignment, artistic clarity, feasibility within the gallery space, and the strength of the overall exhibition.
Due to the volume of submissions, individual feedback may not be provided.
