Call Description

Artspiration Frederick is excited to announce a call for artists for its first 9x9 Art Exhibition, on display in the art center’s Gallery from July 4, 2026 through August 2, 2026.

This unique exhibit celebrates the magic of smaller scale creativity, proving that great art doesn’t have to be big to make a big impact. In 2027 it may go smaller!

Application Requirements

Procedures & Requirements:

• All entries must be completed online by 11:59 EST on May 24, 2026 through CaFÈ. You will need to set up a free account at callforentry.org
• A nonrefundable $35 entry fee is required at the time of application.
• All 2-dimensional works must be properly framed and a wire for hanging must be attached securely to the back. Absolutely no sawtooth hangers. We encourage you to frame your work simply.
• ARTWORK IDENTIFICATION
  All accepted work must have a label SECURELY attached to the back (2D) or base (3D) of the artwork, with the following information:
  - Artist Name / Title of Art / Price
• Please make sure that your prices are correct in your CaFE portfolio. We will not accept price changes once a piece is entered for application to this exhibit.
• You must submit a high-resolution image (300 dpi) image for the jury process. AF will use submitted images of accepted works for concurrent online exhibit, documentation, and promotional materials for this exhibit.
• Shipping materials will be kept for returning work. Only boxes, crates and bins with proper labels including the artist’s contact information and the name of the piece will be kept for repackaging. Boxes and such may include paper & wraps. NO PACKING PEANUTS PLEASE
• Works left at AF more than 30 days past the pick-up dates (September 5, 2026) become the property Artspiration Frederick, will no longer be stored, and written proof of charitable contribution will be issued for its stated value. Open to visual artists 18 years and older residing in Mid Atlantic region.
• Artists may submit up to 8 works. Works must have been completed within the last 3 calendar years and not been previously exhibited at Artspiration Frederick.
• 2026 is an exhibition open to visual artists 18 years and older

Eligibility Criteria

• All medium within the size limitation for 81 sq inches for 2-D, inclusive of frame.
• For 3D (sculptural) artwork, all dimensions must be 9x9x9 inches or less, including the base. Fiber art welcome!
• Artists residing in the continental US.
• You may submit up to eight (8) pieces for consideration, up to 3 may be selected
