Call Description

Art in America: 250 Years of Shared Creativity invites artists to explore and interpret the people, landscapes, traditions, history, and cultural moments that shape the American experience.

Submissions may include work inspired by regional life, community traditions, historic milestones, evolving social movements, industry and innovation, popular culture, or everyday scenes that capture a sense of place and time. Both nostalgic and contemporary perspectives are welcome, and artists are encouraged to share personal, cultural, or community stories that reflect the diversity and complexity of the nation. Visitors to the exhibit can expect a wide-ranging visual journey – from rural and urban environments to symbolic imagery and lived experiences – offering many viewpoints on how America has been seen, felt, and imagined over the past 250 years.

Application Requirements

• Deadline to submit is April 19, 10pm

• Notice of acceptance of work will be by the end of the day, April 24.

• Delivery dates of accepted work: Tuesday, May 12, 10am-12noon to the UNCLE Credit Union

Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater, 2400 First Street, Livermore.

• Exhibit Dates: May 14 – July 25, 2026

• Gallery is currently open free to the public Thursday-Saturdays 12-5 pm and to ticketed patrons during performances. Please always check the website for latest open times as the Gallery may be closed for matinee performances. LivermoreArts.org

• The Reception is Saturday, May 23 , 2-4 pm.

• Pick up artwork is Tuesday July 28 between 10am – noon.

Entry:

No overtly religious or controversial pieces will be accepted. The work will be juried by LVA staff . 

• $35 entry total for up to 3 images. Once entry is submitted, fees are non-refundable regardless of acceptance into the exhibition.

Hanging instructions

Work must be wired and ready to hang by a wires/hanging system and/or nails. “D” hooks are strongly recommended for the wiring. A label should be attached to the back of each artwork listing your name, the title of the work, price, and medium. Please contact gallery@lvpac.org if you have any questions on hanging.

Upon delivery, artists will be required to sign the release form attached, giving Livermore Valley Arts the right to exhibit their work and waiving liability in the event of damage or theft. Please print, sign and return to Anne Giancola at gallery@lvpac.org Livermore Valley Arts does not provide insurance for work that is damaged or stolen.

We prefer hand delivery of artwork, but if you are shipping accepted artwork, it must be received by May 8, 2026. Ship artwork carefully, in a box, with padding. We will return it to you in the same box, only if there is return postage by label or bill of lading from UPS, Fedex, or USPS. Livermore Valley Arts will not be held responsible for theft of art nor damage during shipping to and from the gallery. Ship to LVPAC, Attn Anne Giancola, 2400 First St., Livermore, CA 94550. Any work that is not picked up within 1 week or is not prepared for return shipping will become the property of Livermore Valley Arts.

Details

All work must remain up for the duration of the show.

Livermore Valley Arts will handle all sales and send payment to the artists.

If your artwork sells, there will be a 4% credit card processing fee and then 70% will go to the artist, and 30% to the gallery. Livermore Valley Arts requires artists to complete a W-9 in order to complete payment to the artist. The artist is responsible for paying all sales tax. The

Gallery does not add sales tax to price, so please price accordingly. You will receive payment up to 30 days after close of the show.

Livermore Valley Arts will make every effort to promote the exhibition through invitations and other forms of publicity. Email images of the show announcement and printed postcards will be available for distribution to artist’s personal contacts.

Eligibility Criteria

Artists residing in the United States are eligible to apply.

All artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist. No reproductions or giclées will be accepted unless they are part of a mixed media original work.

Work must be not have previously exhibited at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater.

All two-dimensional artwork must be properly framed (when appropriate), wired, and ready to hang upon delivery. “D” rings with wire are strongly recommended.

Work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition (May 14 – July 25, 2026).

No overtly religious or explicitly political/controversial work will be accepted.

Livermore Valley Arts reserves the right to decline work that does not meet presentation standards or differs significantly from the submitted image.

Artists agree to complete a W-9 form upon acceptance and acknowledge the gallery’s 70% artist / 30% gallery commission structure (4% credit card processing fee deducted prior to split).
