Call Description

The world is at a turning point. The warning signs are undeniable—rising temperatures, mass biodiversity loss, natural disasters, and the collapse of fragile ecosystems. This is not a distant crisis; this is now. It is happening in real-time, and the cost of inaction is EXTINCTION.

Gallerium proudly presents EXTINCTION 2026, the 6th annual juried exhibition, publication, and sales opportunity, inviting artists to become the voice of a planet in peril.

Why Your Art Matters Now More Than Ever

Art has always been a powerful force for change. It captures moments, provokes thought, and inspires action. In the face of an escalating climate emergency, artists have a critical role—to awaken the world, to document what is slipping away, and to give form to hope, grief, urgency, and resilience.

This year’s Extinction 2026 is not just an exhibition; it is a movement—a global gathering of artists committed to using their creative power to shine a light on one of the most pressing issues of our time.

Artists as Environmental Ambassadors

For the 6th consecutive year, we invite artists worldwide to take up the mantle of environmental ambassadors and raise awareness through their work. Your artistic vision can expose the devastating reality of climate change, highlight the beauty we still have to protect, and inspire action to safeguard our fragile ecosystems.

🌎 How do you see the Earth’s struggle?
🌱 What does extinction mean to you?
🔥 How can art serve as a wake-up call to humanity?

Themes to Explore

Artists are invited to explore the following urgent themes through any medium, from abstract to representational works:

Vanishing Species: Highlight endangered animals, plants, and fungi facing extinction due to human actions and environmental destruction.

Climate Catastrophe: The alarming consequences of global warming, including ice mass loss in Greenland, Antarctica, and the Arctic.

Ecosystem Collapse: The devastating loss of forests, rainforests, and coral reefs, the lungs of our planet.

Environmental Suffering: The impact of air, light, noise, plastic, chemical, and radioactive pollution on nature, wildlife, and humans.

Extreme Weather & Natural Disasters: Tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires, and droughts destroying habitats and human communities.

The Fight Against Extinction: Art as a tool for advocacy, resistance, and hope, reflecting actions taken to combat climate change and protect endangered species.

Unseen Victims: The silent suffering of nature—from melting glaciers to displaced wildlife, from oil spills to disappearing pollinators.

Abstract Expressions: Artistic interpretations that convey the emotional weight of extinction, climate crisis, and environmental decay through color, form, texture, and movement, allowing viewers to feel the urgency beyond representational depictions.
