Call Description

This juried ceramic exhibition invites artists working in clay to share work that reflects the meeting of many voices, ideas, and approaches within contemporary ceramic practice. Clay carries traces of place, memory, culture, and imagination, and in the hands of different artists it becomes something endlessly adaptable. Convergence celebrates the moment where varied perspectives, forms, and materials come together in one shared space. Rather than centering on a single aesthetic or narrative, the exhibition welcomes a broad range of work, allowing unexpected relationships and quiet dialogues to emerge between objects. Through this gathering of ceramic works, the exhibition creates a landscape where difference is not only present, but essential to the beauty of the whole.

Application Requirements

  • $35 to submit two pieces of art. 
    Additional pieces may be submitted for $10 per piece
  • Each artist may submit a maximum of 5 pieces.
  • Full-time Student discount: $20 entry fee. Use code Student.

If accepted, each piece must be marked with the artist’s name, title, and retail price. 

Size limits:
FREE STANDING PIECES:  No taller or wider than 24”, no heavier than 20 lbs.  Must be stable and pedestal ready. 
WALL PIECES:  No taller or wider than 24”, no heavier than 10 lbs.  Must be ready to be securely hung. 

The artist will supply installation materials if a unique installation is required. 

Entries must be made of natural clay. 

There are no restrictions as to design, finish, or technique. 

All accepted entries must be for sale during the exhibition. 

Upon submission, the artist agrees to fulfill deadlines and cover return shipping costs and labels. FedEx is our preferred shipping method and double boxes are suggested. No peanuts, please.

Fees & Shipping Entry fees: 
$35 for two pieces, $10 for each additional piece, 5 pieces maximum (includes the first piece). 

Full-time Student discount: $20 entry fee. Use code Student.

For entries selected to be a part of the  exhibition the artist is responsible for shipping and insurance of accepted work to and from the exhibition.

Hand delivery and pickup are also acceptable. Shipped works must be sent in an easily reusable container/packaging and must include prepaid return shipping and insurance. No packing peanuts!

Eligibility Criteria

● The Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older, residing in the United States and internationally. 

● Accepted entries must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition and must be for sale, with Light Art Space retaining 50 percent of the total sale price. 

● All works must have been completed in the last year. 

● Entries shown in previous CLAY Festival juried exhibitions will NOT be accepted.
