Project Description

The FPRA seeks creative, experienced artists to design and install large-scale murals that contribute to the visual identity and cultural vibrancy of Fort Pierce. Each mural should be site-specific, thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of its location, and engaging to both residents and visitors.

Artists are encouraged to develop concepts that are innovative, visually compelling, and appropriate for the surrounding environment. Murals should be durable, weather-resistant, and suitable for long-term outdoor display.

Project Locations & Themes

1. 402 South 5th Street – Mervis Cuban Restaurant
A Cuban/Latin-inspired mural featuring bold colors and lively cultural elements that reflect the vibrancy of Cuban heritage.

2. 608 South 5th Street – Elks Lodge 1520
A mural celebrating the Elks Lodge’s 100-year legacy, incorporating elk imagery and themes of tradition, community, and history.

3. 320 South Indian River Drive – St. Andrew's Episcopal Academy
Located along the Indian River Lagoon and at a key downtown entrance, this mural should reflect the youth, nature, water, and the surrounding environment, potentially incorporating educational or ecological themes.

4. 505 North 7th Street – Dreamchaser Preschool
A colorful and uplifting mural incorporating the school's motto, designed to inspire young children and reflect themes of unity, hope, and inclusion.

Application Requirements

Application Requirements

  • One (1) design submission per mural location
  • Design must be depicted on the actual wall space (photo renderings/mockups required)
  • Brief written description of the design concept
  • Artist website and/or social media links
  • Budget proposal aligned with FPRA funding for each wall (must include materials, labor, and any travel costs)

Eligibility Criteria

Artist Qualifications

  • Open to professional artists or artist teams
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale public art or murals
  • Proven ability to execute projects of similar scope and complexity
