Wild, Weird, and Wonderful

A Online Exhibition on Artsy

Not Shockboxx invites artists from everywhere to submit work for Wild, Weird, and Wonderful, a fully online exhibition celebrating the bold, the unexpected, and the unapologetically original.

This is a space for work that does not quite fit anywhere else, but also maybe everywhere. The pieces that are too strange, too playful, too loud, too emotional, too layered, or too hard to explain. The work that makes people pause, laugh, question, or feel something they did not expect.

We are not looking for safe.
We are not looking for polished perfection.
We are looking for work that has a pulse.

All mediums are welcome including painting, photography, sculpture, prints, textile, mixed media, video, and beyond. If it translates visually and holds its own in a digital space, we want to see it.

This is a juried exhibition, and all selected works will be presented exclusively on Artsy.net as part of Not Shockboxx’s digital programming. The exhibition will be live for six weeks.

Submission Details

Entry Fee: $15 per application

If Invited: We will need 3 high-quality images per artwork (You will be asked to submit after invited) 

Important: Each artwork must be submitted as a separate application and requires its own entry fee.

 

Sales + Fulfillment

All accepted works will be listed for sale on Artsy.net

Commission is 40/40/20 with 20% going to Artsy fees

If a piece sells, shipping will be coordinated directly between the gallery, artist and collector.

Not Shockboxx will facilitate the sale and communication.

Surprise us. Confuse us. Delight us.
Make us feel something we did not see coming.

This is an online-only exhibition with no physical delivery required

If your work does not fit neatly into a category, it probably belongs here.

Application Requirements

***NEW APPLICATION FORMAT!!!***

You can submit only 1 artwork per application for $15.00 (1 application = 1 artwork). If you want to submit more than one artwork, please start a new application for an additional artwork. 

Submit up to 10 images per artwork and up to 10 pieces for consideration.

If you submit different artworks under one application, only the first will be considered. Additional images are for showing various perspectives of a single artwork.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to all artists regardless of location, identity, or background.
• All 2D, 3D, mixed media, photography, textiles and digital works accepted.
• All work must have high quality images ready for uploading to Artsy.net. We recommend one straight on image, one close up detail and one from a different perspective.
• We especially encourage submissions from queer artists, artists of color, and artists with different abilities.
