Call To Artists

Presented by the Village of Evendale Cultural Arts Center &  Recreation Center.

ECAC is honored to celebrate the diverse, talented artists living or working within a 50 mile radius of Evendale. The ECAC warmly encourages all artists to participate in the Evendale Fine Art Exhibit.

ELIGIBILITY

This exhibit is open to artists living or working within a 50 mile radius of Evendale (10500 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45241). All fine art disciplines are encouraged for submission. Only artists 21 and older may submit works. All works must be original in concept, design, and execution. As this is held in a family recreation center, artwork will be evaluated for appropriateness. Eligible media include paintings (oils, acrylic, watercolor, and pastels), sketches, etchings and sculpture.  No giclees, photography or computer generated artwork will be accepted.

ENTRY PROCEDURE

A maximum of five pieces of art can be submitted, up to three may be accepted. Digital images of the art must be submitted at CallForEntry.org for jury consideration. Entries and fees must be received by the application deadline. Please follow the application instructions at CallforEntry.org. You can pay fees directly at the website or mail a check payable to:

Entry fees are $30 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece. Artists who complete the submittal process by the early bird deadline only pay $20 for the first piece and $5 for each additional piece. Evendale residents are $30 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece. Evendale residents who complete the submittal process by the early bird deadline are free. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Entry checklist:

1) Create an account at CallforEntry.org

2) Upload images and descriptions as directed.

3) Either pay fees online at CallforEntry.org or mail a check to the Evendale Fine Art Exhibit.

Entries submitted without fees or after the deadline will not be eligible.

NOTIFICATION AND ART DELIVERY

Once your images are juried, you will be notified by email after the jury process is complete. An approximate date of notification is listed on the schedule. Accepted art must be hand-delivered to the Evendale Recreation Center during scheduled times.

PREPARATION OF ACCEPTED ARTWORK

Size and weight of work is limited to that which can be moved by one person. Any work that is hung must weigh less than 20 pounds and measure no larger than 36 X 36 without special approval. Artwork must be appropriately framed or museum wrapped canvas and wired for hanging. No art with sawtooth hangers will be accepted. Labels must be securely attached to the back or bottom of the art  with artist’s name, title of art, medium, price, and email address.

LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

All possible care will be taken of the entries, but ECAC can assume no responsibility for damage or loss of works. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.

SALES

Artists are encouraged to offer their work for sale. Any work not priced will be marked “not for sale.” The ECAC takes no commission on sales and is not responsible for taxes on works sold. Purchased artwork will remain a part of the exhibit until the close on Monday.

2014 JUROR

TOM POST

A freelance illustrator with a BFA in Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design, Tom has a knack for creating unique, inspirational art for the project at hand. He has done advertising work for a variety of corporate clients and when time permits he pulls out his favorite medium, oil paints. Tom has been pursuing oil painting and expanding his teaching activities since 2001. He specializes in portraiture, figurative and painting en plein air. Tom is a member of the Cincinnati Art Club and his paintings are in the personal collection of various notable collectors. His works have been shown at The Cincinnati Nature Center, Homerama and can currently be seen at The Raymond Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
