Women artists have been integral to the cultural fabric of New Mexico, contributing significantly to its artistic vitality. Female artists such as Olive Rush, Georgia O'Keeffe, Judy Chicago, Agnes Martin, and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith chose New Mexico as their canvas, becoming pillars of the state's dynamic art scene. Their collective efforts not only shaped a unique and authentic artistic community but also drew countless visitors eager to experience this vibrant cultural landscape.
Today, New Mexico's art community, enriched and enlivened by the distinctive contributions of women artists and gallery owners continues to be a beacon of diverse cultures, beliefs, and ways of life. It is these women artists who have been, and continue to be, the vital forces nurturing the state's cultural landscape, ensuring that the artistic spirit of New Mexico not only endures but flourishes. Join us and become part of this vibrant artistic force. https://newmexicowomeninthearts.org/join-renew

EXHIBITION LOCATIONS
Turner Carroll Gallery, opened in 1991, is located at 725 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501 and is a prestigious, internationally known contemporary art gallery. Turner Carroll is widely recognized for its commitment to furthering scholarship and exposure of women artists. Turner Carroll has placed works by women artists in museum exhibition such as the Getty, Art Institute of Chicago, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, National Portrait Gallery, Brooklyn Museum, and numerous university museums throughout the country. https://www.turnercarrollgallery.com
GF Contemporary, created in 2009 by Deborah Fritz, is a dynamic space that celebrates the diverse spectrum of artistic expression, showcasing works from artists who emphasize meticulous craftsmanship to those who explore profound conceptual narratives. From sculptures that capture the essence of form and movement to paintings that stir the soul, installations that challenge the status quo to mixed media pieces that push the boundaries of creativity. GF Contemporary’s clients include some of the most important private collections, art funds and foundations in Europe. GF Contemporary is located in the iconic art hub of Canyon Road in Santa Fe. https://www.gfcontemporary.com
The exhibition location of the jury’s selected works will be determined by the galleries on a lottery basis, or if necessary, the practicality of size or specific display requirements that would prohibit the work to be shown to its best advantage. In that case TC and GF shall negotiate a fair trade of a work of equal quality and similar value.
SALES
All artworks submitted for consideration must be for sale throughout the exhibition period, permitted to be reproduced for advertising and marketing as well as digital promotional materials. By submitting, the artist grants reproduction license to NMC, Turner Carroll Gallery and GF Contemporary. When practicable, all reproductions of artwork will be accompanied by identification of the artists’ name and the title of the artwork.
Artists selected by the jury for the exhibition should have at least two additional works of art in a similar nature to the artwork selected. This innovative exhibition format is artist-centric and focused on drawing as much attention as possible to the exhibited artist's works. Thus, as artworks sell, each work will be replaced by a comparable work by the same artist up to two additional works of art.
Sales proceeds will be split as follows: 50% of net sales proceeds will be paid to the artist; 10% of the net sales proceeds will be donated to NMC of NMWA; 40% will be retained by Turner Carroll Gallery or GF Contemporary. The galleries reserve the right to negotiate a discount with a prospective purchaser to a limit of 10%.
Are you currently represented by a Gallery? In the event an artist is represented exclusively by another gallery, the artist can request that Turner Carroll Gallery and GF Contemporary give their representative gallery a 10% commission from the Galleries’ share of each work of theirs sold, as well as acknowledgement on wall tags and the sale.
INSURANCE
The Galleries and NMC of NMWA promise to treat the artworks with respect and care during the exhibition period. However insurance must be the responsibility of the artist.
PROMOTION
This event will be promoted via press releases, advertisements in local publications, online event calendars, online digital catalog, social media, flyers distributed to local businesses, and additional programming.
