The Artists Gallery (TAG) invites residents of the United States, 18 years or older, to submit artwork for exhibition at MADE IN THE USA: BREATH OF FREEDOM This call for art is open to interpretation, with various styles and mediums accepted. 

Artists may submit paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, digital art, 3D / Installation, and video art. No AI.

JUROR James Panozzo, Launch LA

James Panozzo was raised in Cleveland Ohio and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He considers Los Angeles his home, having lived here since 1992. Some of his most formative experiences came from living abroad in Eastern Europe and in New York City in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. James is married to L.A .gallerist Merry Karnowsy and together they raise a teen-age daughter and adult son.

James co-founded TARFEST, the free, all ages, multidisciplinary festival held annually in the Miracle Mile District since 2002. He has headed fundraising efforts, overseen production, and collaborated with a variety of curators and partners to present a variety of programming and creative experiences. James served as the Director of Lawrence Asher Gallery on Wilshire Blvd from 2004 – 2010, managing day-to-day operations while curating and exhibiting emerging and mid-career artists.

James created the non-profit, social enterprise LAUNCH LA in 2010 to oversee the production of TARFEST annually. LAUNCH also presents monthly exhibitions at its gallery space located at 170 S. La Brea Avenue as well as other collaborative exhibitions and happenings with like-minded organizations and individuals throughout Los Angeles.

Delivery and installation of large-scale sculpture, artwork, and video equipment Large-scale sculpture, installations, heavy artwork, and video equipment must be delivered on Saturday, July 11, and installed on Monday, July 13, between 1 and 6 p.m.

Re-packing and Return mailing dates: Packages with prepaid return labels are mailed from the Gallery on or before Sunday, Aug 22, 2026.

ARTWORK FORMAT, PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

Artwork submissions are limited to six (6) original artworks per artist, submitted as JPGs, and or (3) three video submissions. The maximum size allowed for this exhibition is 80 inches height and 40 inches width, framed. The maximum weight for artwork is 25 pounds. If the Invited art weighs more than 25 pounds or requires a substantial installation, the artist must deliver the work in- person (do not ship). The artist must be available to assemble heavy and difficult installations at the gallery on Monday, July 13. TAG provides pedestals of various heights for small sculptures. TAG does not install screens for video submissions; accepted video artists must arrange the installation of a screen at TAG for video presentations. 

All hanging artwork MUST be prepared with wire hanging hardware suitable for a single hook; prefabricated frames with two hangers must also be wired for a single hook. For heavier pieces, D-rings or a French Cleat are acceptable. Ensure your artwork hangs flush to the wall before delivering it to TAG. If your artwork is complex, please provide instructions and guidance photos for installation. The gallery reserves the right to avoid hanging artwork presented in a way that risks it being damaged during installation; the artwork or frame is damaged during transportation; the artwork is too heavy, fragile or not prepared to hang, or does not compare well to the artist's submitted image/photograph. Once artwork is submitted, the artwork may not be substituted or altered by the artist; this includes not increasing or decreasing the artwork size. Artwork dimensions, including the frame for this exhibition, are limited to 80 H x 40 W inches.

SHIPPING

Shipped Artwork Installation Deadline is Saturday, July 10. Shipped artwork should be sent to TAG’s UPS mailing address: UPS Store for TAG Gallery, 5482 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036. Arrange all shipments to arrive after Monday, July 6 and before Saturday, July 10. Invited artists shipping artwork must include a prepaid return shipping label with shipped artwork(s). TAG is only responsible for shipping artwork, including a prepaid return label. Do not ship glass; only ship plexiglass or remove glass. Do not ship flat portfolios; always use a sturdy box suitable for artwork, mirrors, or frames. Consider purchasing a reusable shipping box specifically designed for transporting artwork. Shipped artworks received by the gallery lacking a prepaid shipping label will result in severely delayed shipping or surrender of the artwork (e.g., If the prepaid return label is not provided within 60 days of the show's end). TAG is not responsible for shipping artwork without return shipping labels, or artwork left at TAG over 60 days after the exhibition ends 

FORMAT FOR DIGITAL UPLOADS
Artwork entries must be submitted as a high-resolution (2-3 MB) digital JPEG. Images of your artwork should be cropped to remove any background, mat and frame. Upload only one view per artwork submitted. The image quality of your artwork photos is critical. The digital image(s) you upload must faithfully represent the artwork, size, and medium you submit.

ENTRIES & FEES

One entry is $40.00. Artists may submit up to 6 additional artwork entries, and up to 3 video art entries,  at $5.00 each (6 physical artworks max + 3 videos max = 9 maximum submissions). Upload one image or video per artwork, do not upload videos of submitted artworks.

Payment is made through CaFÉ via credit card. Fees are non-refundable. There is no guarantee of acceptance into the exhibit. 

AWARDS
Cash Awards: 1st Place - $600, 2nd Place - $300, 3rd Place - $100 

Awards of Excellence are awarded to each Category represented with two or more artworks. Categories include Paintings, Drawings, Printmaking, Photography, Digital Art (not AI), Sculpture, Mixed Media, 3D / Installation, Video

SALES
All submitted artworks MUST be for sale. TAG will handle all sales, which may include a 10% discount for customers. TAG receives a 40% commission on the sold price of artwork in this exhibition from the day it is accepted until 30 days after the exhibition ends (Aug 31, 2026), or until the artwork is picked up. Payouts for sales during this term are sent within 60 days of the sale; payouts over $600.00 require a W9 from the artist. All Invited artworks must remain on display at The Artists Gallery from July 15 to July 13, 12026. Do not submit artwork to TAG that is already booked for other shows and exhibitions from June 22, and date of acceptance (June 15) through Aug 31, 2026.

PROMOTION OF THE EXHIBIT
The Artists Gallery provides promotional images and email marketing, and we strongly encourage cross-promotion on social media.

Artists may submit original paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, digital art, 3D / Installation, and video art. No AI. Artwork dimensions, including frame, are limited to 80 H x 40 W in. Entries must be original, and of the artist’s or collective's execution, and have not been previously shown at The Artists Gallery (TAG). Do not submit artworks that violate copyright laws. Artworks created and completed under the direct supervision of an instructor are not eligible. All submitted artworks MUST be for sale.
