Call Description

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program invites professional Louisiana artists residing in Region 7 (including Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, Desoto, Red River, Sabine, and Natchitoches Parishes) and those who are listed on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council roster to submit qualifications for an interior artwork opportunity at Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College’s (NLTCC) Mansfield Campus, where a new addition is being constructed to support expanded Allied Health and Nursing education programs.

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College’s Mansfield Campus serves students and community members throughout DeSoto Parish and the surrounding region. The campus plays an important role in preparing individuals for careers in healthcare, technical trades, and other high-demand industries that support the local economy and quality of life.

The new Allied Health and Nursing addition reflects the college’s continued investment in workforce development and healthcare education. The facility will provide modern training environments designed to support hands-on learning and to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in Northwest Louisiana.

The selection committee seeks interior two-dimensional artwork that enhances the interior environment of the new Allied Health and Nursing addition and contributes to a welcoming atmosphere for students, faculty, and visitors.

Several wall areas suitable for two-dimensional artwork have been identified. The selection committee may recommend one or more artists to provide completed and available artwork for the facility, depending on the final selection of works and available wall space.

Application Requirements

A complete application includes:

• A current artist résumé
• Letter of interest (maximum one page)
• Portfolio of completed and available artwork suitable for interior public display (up to 10 images)

Eligibility Criteria

This is a regional call for artists.

Preference will be given to artists who are listed on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council artist roster and/or artists residing in Louisiana Region 7, including Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, DeSoto, Red River, Sabine, and Natchitoches Parishes.

This call for artists is open to professional artists 18 and over, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identification, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical ability.
