ORIGINAL SMALL WORKS CALL FOR VISUAL ART - PLEASE CAREFULLY READ REQUIREMENTS & INSTRUCTIONS

Show your small works of art at Cape Fear Studios! The 6 by Exhibit caters to visual artists of any medium. One dimension of each creation must measure 6”. Each artist may submit up to three pieces of original work, no prints or mass produced work please. Participants 18 years old and above. Enter on: https://www.callforentry.org

Show Juror: Silvana Foti
Silvana Foti is the previous executive director of the David McCune International Art Gallery at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Silvana was instrumental in the opening of the gallery along with the founding of the gallery's advisory board. She holds a MFA in printmaking and ceramic sculpture from the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Notre Dame with a BFA from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana.
As previous gallery director, Silvana curated numerous regional, national and international exhibitions. Select exhibits include Warhol, Chagall, The Story of the Exodus, Picasso: 25 Years of Edition Ceramics from the Rosenbaum Collection, Rodin: Portraits of a Lifetime, Selections from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Collection, and Impressionism to Modernism: Masterworks of Early Photography. The exhibitions were often augmented with lectures, workshops, docent training, and interdisciplinary events. All gallery exhibitions met The American Alliance of Museums' (AAM) national standards and best practices.
Silvana's professional background includes more that 20 years' teaching at the college level, serving as department chair for Methodist University's Department of Art, and program coordinator for visual arts education.
As a practicing artist, Silvana is best known for her expertise in printmaking. In addition to participating in more than 50 artist exhibitions, her former and current art gallery representation encompasses works on display in nine galleries throughout North Carolina, New York City, and Chicago. Her personal works are on display in more than 45 public and private collections.
2D work:
One dimension, height and/or width MUST measure 6", up to a maximum of 6 x 18 inches. Ex: 4 x 6, 6 x 6, 6 x 12, etc. (Dimensions before framing). MUST BE PROPERLY WIRED FOR HANGING; NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS.
3D work:
At least one dimension MUST measure 6" (height, width or depth) with no other dimension to exceed 12".
Entry fee:
$30 for 1st entry, up to 2 additional entries at $15 each, maximum 3 entries per artist. Multiple images in a single frame are subject to entry fee per image.
Accepted entries:
Artists will be notified of acceptance/decline no later than August 25, 2026.
Dates for delivery of work, shipped or hand delivered, are shown below in the schedule. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.
Label with artist's name, contact information, title, medium and price should be attached to the back of the art.
The artist is responsible for insurance and cost of shipping to/from Cape Fear Studios. Shipping guidelines and additional information will be sent with notification of acceptance. SHIPPED ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE A PRE-PAID RETURN LABEL.
Sales:
All works must be for sale. In the event a work is sold, Cape Fear Studios will retain a 30% commission of the sale price. State sales tax is applicable to all sales. No work may be withdrawn early from the show. Payment from sales will be made to the artist within 30 days after the close of the exhibit. Price must remain the same as listed on the entry form.
Disclaimer Agreement:
Work submitted at the risk of the artist. While all possible care will be taken, Cape Fear Studios, its members or representatives, will not assume responsibility for any loss or damage incurred before, during, or after the exhibit. Cape Fear Studios reserves the right to refuse any work that does not comply with all specifications or differs greatly from submitted digital images. Your submitted entry signifies your agreement with the terms and conditions stated herein, including granting permission to Cape Fear Studios to reproduce accepted works for advertising the 2026 exhibition.

Cape Fear Studios is open Tuesday - Friday 11am to 5pm; Saturday 10am to 2pm; closed on Sunday and Monday.
Friday, September 25, 2026: 6-8 pm Reception and Awards Ceremony
November 24, 2026: Exhibit closes (pick up hand delivered works November 25 and 27 from 11am to 5pm or November 28 from 10am to 2pm
Return shipping will begin November 27, 2026.
