Call Description

Celebrate 250 years of adventuring across America!  From State and National Parks to the routes and regions, rivers and beaches, lakes and mountains, deserts and forests that continuously beckon visitors, America the Beautiful is worth preserving and memorializing through photography. Whether portraits of people, snapshots of landmarks, or glimpses of natural features, showcase the spirit of American travel in celebration of her 250th birthday (1776-2026).  

Photographers are invited to submit up to 5 images (that will need to be printed and ready-to-hang). Deadline for applications is June 15, 2026. This exhibition is part of the City of Frisco’s “America 250” celebration and is hosted by the Cultural Affairs Division of Play Frisco at the Frisco Discovery Center in the Grand Gallery.  

Notification of Acceptance:

Load-In: Saturday, 6/20/26 between 11AM-1PM at Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034 in the Grand Gallery.

Public Reception: Saturday, 7/11/26 from 5PM-7PM with awards announced at 6:15PM. Light refreshments served.

Load-Out: Saturday, 9/19/26 from 11AM-1PM.

Application Requirements

It is free for eligible artists to submit images of up to five (5) photographs. 

If selected for the exhibition, a $30 entry fee is due by credit card prior to load-in, along with a signed gallery guidelines document and artwork loan agreement available upon acceptance.

• Submit jpg images of your work by 6/15/26 through CaFE and include your name and email address, along with the title, medium, and dimensions of each piece being submitted.

Eligibility Criteria

This open call for art is open to artists in Texas who are ages 18 & up. Only entries that meet the exhibition requirements will be considered for the exhibition.
