Call Description

The Tolleson Art Gallery invites Arizona artists of all backgrounds and disciplines to submit work exploring the journey of artistic growth, transformation, and self-discovery.

My Evolution is an exhibition centered on progression — the shift from where you began to where you stand today as an artist. Through this theme, we encourage submissions that reflect personal development, changing perspectives, breakthroughs, experiments, failures, reinventions, and the moments that shaped your creative voice.

Artists are encouraged to present:

• Early works alongside current pieces
• Visual narratives of growth and transition
• Work that reflects changes in style, technique, identity, or purpose
• Pieces that capture pivotal moments in your artistic journey

This show is only open to ARIZONA artists.

Accepted Mediums

All mediums are welcome, including painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, textile art, and more.

This show is FREE to enter and is only open to ARIZONA artists. This show is held in the TAG gallery of the City of Tolleson.

Submission Deadline: July 3, 2026

Artist Compensation

• $575 stipend will be awarded to each artist selected to exhibit and present a program (minimum 1-hour) such as a workshop, artist talk, demo, or other public engagement.
• $100 stipend will be awarded to each artist selected to exhibit (who does not present a program).
• The Tolleson Public Library raffles one art piece for each exhibition run to a gallery visitor. Gallery visitors who enter the raffle can select one exhibiting piece that is available for sale up to a $500 value. The raffle will take place the day after the exhibition close and the artist whose work was chosen will be notified of the sale through the Sedona Arts Center.

Application Requirements

Image Format:  Each artist can submit up to six (6) works.  Photos must be in a JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. Images should include the title of the piece in the file name. In addition, please list the title, dimensions, medium and price of your pieces on the Entry Form.

All entries must be original works created by the submitting artist.

Provide high-quality images or video links (for digital, installation, or performance works).

Include a brief artist statement (max 250 words) related to your submission and how it connects to the theme.

If you are interested in leading a program at Tolleson Art Gallery, please include program title and brief description of program.  This is required if your are interested in the higher stipend.
