Resonance : Make Space To Resonate

Our annual Consciousness Spiral is a shared participation to discover and witness, to inspire and expand on individual empowerment and unity consciousness. For Phase III within this curriculum, Gather Center invites you to explore Resonance.

We are resonance materialized. Frequency is information; existence is vibration. Harmonic evolution suggests both individual and shared coherence and alignment with Earth frequencies.

Resonance is the literal frequency everything emits, cocreating our shared field. We cannot think or speak our way into resonance. It is not enacted through effort, though many of us are working hard to be there.

Resonance is the baseline, connecting us to all that we experience and through awareness. Where we become aware of our energy, we can practice resonance as choice. It is a state not a status.

Awakening is arriving at a new frequency, experiencing moments of it. Resonance is maintaining that updated frequency with purpose.

This call seeks visual and sonic works that have mobilized from recognition, through awakening and into a chosen state of held frequency. Share with us your projects of resonance, your references, illustrations and materializations of frequency, your own meditative message.

Messages are frequency; art is an instrument capable of carrying it.

Potential Meanings and Inspirations

Resonance is relevant in art, kinetics, physics, light and energy, music, and meanings suggesting the fabric of our universe.

"Resonance is the physical phenomenon where a vibrating system or external force drives another object to oscillate at greater amplitudes, occurring when the driving frequency matches the object's natural frequency. It applies across multiple disciplines: physics, chemistry, music, and everyday metaphor"

Requirements

Local, fully completed and ready to hang artworks and ready performances (live or digital) ONLY. Hand delivery will be required on the specified date of Wednesday, 7/15/26 between the hours 12-6PM. No commercial carriers or alterations of timing permitted. Artworks will be installed by gallery on Thursday 7/16/26. Opening reception will take place Friday evening on 7/17/26. Artworks will remain onsite for exhibition and open hours through the end of August. Artwork will be listed for sale including gallery and artist commissions. As sales occur, we encourage collection of sold artworks to occur following the exhibition close and for artworks to remain installed until that time. Hand pick up will be required with dates posted well in advance.

We invite visual artists to include a piece of music via a link inspiring their submission if applicable. This is NOT a requirement. Submitted inspiration music will be considered for the sonic experience during open hours where they are appropriately matched within the greater compilation.

Sonic submissions to this call should offer links to examples of proposed works, a detailed narrative as well as technical requirements of the experience.

Application Requirements

Submit up to 3 works for consideration. For each work, include: image, title, medium, dimensions, year, and retail price. Include 1–2 sentences describing each piece. Optional: brief artist bio/statement.

If selected, artist must hand-deliver work on the delivery date and pick up work on the pickup date (see dates below).

Eligibility Criteria

Open to artists who can comply with hand delivery and in-person pickup in Brooklyn, NY. No commercial shipments accepted. Work must be exhibition-ready at delivery. Artist is responsible for transport logistics and liability in transit.
