PrintAustin invites you to enter our second annual juried national exhibition “ The Contemporary Print” to be held at Big Medium Gallery at Canopy during PrintAustin 2015.
PrintAustin is a month-long celebration of original prints, the artists who create them, and the people who collect them.The calendar is filled with exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and special events at museums, galleries, non-profit organizations, and alternative spaces.
"The Contemporary Print" exhibition will be a survey of the traditions and the innovations of contemporary printmaking happening today. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media as their primary technique including: Lithography, Relief, Intaglio, Silkscreen, and Monotype.
 
JURORS: We are excited to announce our show jurors: Kathryn Polk, an artist living in Tucson, Arizona, whose work is rich with allegorical and unexpected layering of whimsy with a keen perception of the narrative and story-telling. Polk’s prints are widely exhibited and are in the collections around the world. Kevin McNamee-Tweed from North Carolina and a NYU graduate, creates work on paper, installations, and books. Kevin is currently exhibition curator at Big Medium.
ELIGIBILITY:  Open to artists 18 years and older residing in the United States. Any 2-D or 3-D work including ceramics, sculpture, mixed media and artists’ books that uses printmaking as the sole or major technique in its execution. Work cannot exceed 72 inches in any direction. No traditional or digital photography.
CASH AWARDS: 1st Prize: $400 2nd Prize: $300  & 3rd Prize: $200
FEES: $35 for up to 3 entries; $10 for each additional entry. Payment via credit card using PayPal is preferred.You may also pay using check or payable to PrintAustin & mailed to: Big Medium at Canopy, Fees are non-Refundable.

ENTRY GUIDELINES: All entries will be submitted through CallForEntry.org, also known as CaFÉ.
• 300 dpi jpgs no larger than 2 MB/image.
•(3-D work may be presented in 2 views, counting as one image...BUT you have to email us at printaustin@gmail.com to get coupon code so as not to be charged extra.)
• Label files in the following manner: JohnSmith1.jpg, JohnSmith2.jpg, JohnSmith3.jpg, etc.
• Images must be uploaded by 11:59 PM, November 9, 2014. MST
• Artist Statements and High Resolution Jpegs of accepted artwork will be required.
Email notifications will be sent to all entrants by December 16. 2014.

To ensure the quality of the exhibition, a juror may reject any work that was not accurately represented in the digital file. The juror’s decision is final.
