Eligibility: Bellingham National 2015 is open to all artists working in the United States. Works may be in any medium. All art must be original, completed within the last two years, and available through the entire run of the show. 
Deadline for entries is February 22, 2015. You can apply online at: https://www.callforentry.org/ and search for Bellingham National 2015.
Size specifications: Two-dimensional works, when displayed, cannot exceed  60 inches in height and 48 inches in width, including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60 inches in height, 24 inches in width, and 24 inches in depth. The weight limitation of each crated or packaged work must not exceed 50 lbs.
Entry Fee and Procedures: One, two, or three digital images may be submitted via CaFÉ for a $35 entry fee at https://www.callforentry.org. Video and performance stills can be submitted and the juror will make every attempt to view time-based work if links are provided. Secure credit card payments can be made through CaFÉ. Personal checks or money orders will be accepted via mail payable to: Whatcom Museum. To guarantee that your images are sent to the juror, all entry fees sent by mail must be received by February 16, 2015, and mailed to the Whatcom Museum/Bellingham National 2015, 121 Prospect Street, Bellingham, WA, 98225.
Submitting Images for Jurying: All entries (information and images) will be accepted through the CaFÉ website. Instructions on how to format images to CaFÉ specifications can be found at Media Prep.
1) Each entrant may submit up to three digital images of three different artworks.
2) Each work must be represented by only one image (no detail views or duplicates).
3) Please also attach a current resume and provide an artist's statement (no more than 1000 characters in length).
Juror’s selection for the Bellingham National 2015 will be announced via email and the CaFÉ website during the week of March 16, 2015.
Shipping: Artists will be responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the Whatcom Museum. The museum will require prepayment of any shipping/insurance costs for the return of each artwork. Please include either a prepaid return shipping label or FED EX account number with the incoming shipment. All shipped work must be received between April 15 and May 1, 2015. Detailed instructions will be sent to those artists whose works are accepted by the juror. 
About the Whatcom Museum: The Whatcom Museum presents exhibitions of regional, national and international art to an expansive audience. Landmark buildings, innovative exhibitions and rich program offerings have made the museum a destination for visitors ranging from Seattle, WA to Vancouver BC. We are located in Bellingham’s growing arts district, which includes the Mt. Baker Theatre, SPARK: the Museum of Electrical Invention, and the Pickford Film Center. The Whatcom Museum is accredited nationally by the American Association of Museums and is a Smithsonian Institution affiliate. It maintains high security with a guard present during gallery hours. The gallery does not profit from the entry fees of the Bellingham National 2015. All monies collected pay for the entire exhibition, awards, and advertising. 
Legal Agreement: The Whatcom Museum is responsible for works only while they are on the premises of the museum. Artworks will be handled carefully and displayed in a secure, climate-controlled gallery. Fragile works will be placed near a wall and under a vitrine, if appropriate. The Whatcom Museum reserves the right to photograph artworks in the exhibition for publicity and educational purposes. The museum does not discriminate with regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin or veteran status. The Bellingham National 2015 exhibition and events are ADA Compliant.

About the Juror:
Scott Lawrimore has dedicated his career to championing contemporary artists as a curator, writer, art historian, and gallerist. He was recently appointed the first Director of the Jacob Lawrence Gallery, University of Washington. From 2012-14, Lawrimore was Deputy Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Frye Art Museum, where he curated historical exhibitions drawn from the collection as well as innovative contemporary shows, such as the forty-year retrospective, Buster Simpson // Surveyor.
Lawrimore has held positions with Art Access Magazine, Foster/White Gallery, Davidson Galleries, and Greg Kucera Gallery before opening his own space, Lawrimore Project, in 2006. He has also taught professional practicum classes for graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Washington, Cornish College for the Arts, and Seattle University. Lawrimore holds a Bachelor of Art Degree in art history from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Art Degree in art history from Sacramento State University.
