The annual juried fine art exhibition, Arts at the Port, is the crown jewel of the Anacortes Arts Festival (August 7 - 9, 2015). The mission of this exhibition is to showcase regional fine art to the Festival audience (estimated at 90,000). The exhibition shows a range of work from artists working in both 2D and 3D. The juror, at his discretion, will select approximately 30 to 40 artists, each displaying 2 to 5 works. The exhibition is housed in the Port of Anacortes Transit Shed Event Center; a rustic waterfront setting at the north end of the Festival. Arts at the Port also includes the Allen Family Invitational Gallery and a K-12 youth art exhibition.
Juror: Stefano Catalani is the Director of Art, Craft and Design at the Bellevue Art Museum. He has conceived and organized over 20 acclaimed exhibitions, showcasing the artwork of some of the most important Northwest artists – a number of exhibitions have had nationwide exposure. He is a published writer, lecturer; and been nominator and juror for numerous awards. He is highly regarded in the field of contemporary art and craft, understanding and appreciating both tradition and innovation.

Awards: Artists will be eligible for up to $11,500 in awards, including:
- $3,000 Best of Show
- $2,000 2 @ $1,000 each - Excellence Award
- $1,000 Festival Choice Award
- $4,000 "Anacortes Collects" Festival Public Art Purchase Award (may be multiple pieces/artists)
- $1,000 People's Choice Award
- $ 500 T Bailey Corporate Award
Exhibition dates: The show Opening is Saturday, August 1st at 6 pm. It is open Aug 3 - 6 from 10 am to 5 pm, and Festival weekend (Aug 7 - 9).

Categories: Encouraging both 2D and 3D work, artists working in the following categories are invited to enter the Arts at the Port Juried Fine Art Exhibition:
2-Dimensional - Drawing & Painting (including mixed media), Photography, Digitally Generated Art & Video
3-Dimensional - Sculpture, Fine Crafts (fiber, ceramics, metals, glass, wood, basketry, jewelry)
Installation (including site specific) Note: Installation and video artists must submit a separate one-page written or drawn proposal documenting what they intend to create, as well as 5 images documenting past work. If your work doesn’t fit the online format, please call the Festival office at 360-293-6211.
Basic Requirements
- No reproduced work (except photography or digitally created) will be accepted.
- No work displayed, or for sale elsewhere in the Festival will be accepted.
- No work that has been previously entered in the Anacortes Arts Festival will be accepted.
- Artists may not substitute, alter, change the price, nor withdraw a work after it has been accepted.
- The Festival reserves the right to refuse any work it deems unsuitable or misrepresented
Presentation: Accepted work must be ready for display upon arrival. Wall-mounted pieces must have adequate hangers and/or wire. Three-dimensional work needs adequate installation instruction if it requires more than a standard pedestal. Installation artists must install their own work and must make prior arrangements with festival staff to accommodate the installation.
Art Availability: Artwork must be available from July 26, 2015 through August 9, 2015. Artwork mailed to the office must arrive before July 23, 2015. Mailed work must use Plexiglas and be accompanied by a return postage label.
Sales: All accepted and hung work must be for sale. AAF will handle sales and retain a 50% commission. Artists will receive payment within two weeks after the Festival for any work sold at the show.
Security: The Festival will insure accepted work up to $2,500 per piece while on exhibition at Art at the Port - any additional insurance must be covered by the individual artist.
