nThe Lee Gallery at Clemson University in South Carolina is currently seeking exhibition proposals for solo, group or curated exhibitions for the 2016 – 2017 academic year and beyond. Our goal is to showcase professional emerging or established artists creating innovative work in all types of media addressing contemporary issues. As an extension of the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities (CAAH) the Lee Gallery develops programs that reach across the university, and out to our community, the state, and beyond. Successful proposals will demonstrate quality work that raises thoughtful questions accessible to a broad range of programs and audiences.

nThe gallery is 2000 sq/ft space with a maximum of 150’ of linear wall space.  Exhibits typically run 5-7 weeks and include an exhibit reception. The gallery also programs gallery talks, student engagement activities and workshops when possible.

nMarketing
nLee Gallery advertises the exhibit through the Center for Visual Arts, and College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities websites, through our strong social media presence, university communication systems to alumni & supporters, in university and community calendars, monthly emails broadcasts to supporters and through printed exhibit cards. 

nLiability
nLee Gallery assumes the responsibility of insuring and caring for works selected for exhibition.

nSupport:
nThe gallery will provide a minimum of $500.00 and maximum of $1,500.00 to support artist visits to campus for installations and curator/artist led presentations as part of exhibition programing.  Applicants should include a budget if requesting support.

nEligibility
nUSA Residents and artists 18 years or older may apply.
nAll work must be original
nAll media is eligible for consideration. 
nClemson University employees are ineligible to apply
nStudents currently enrolled in any MFA or BFA programs are ineligible to apply. 

nInstallation & Striking
nFor art installations the artist is responsible for all installation details and any materials required.

nTechnology
nArtists utilizing any type of technology beyond electricity may expect to provide all needed equipment and support materials for installations.  Depending on the proposal, some video monitors may be made available.  Artists may inquire as part of the proposal process.

nShipping & Transportation
nArtists are responsible for delivery of works to and from the gallery.

nWork Selection:
nWorks submitted for consideration needs to reasonably represent the overall quality of work available for exhibition.
