ELIGIBILITY
n• Open to all artists including artists with a disability.
n
nART SPECIFICATIONS
n• All two-dimensional mediums and styles are accepted.
n• Artwork must fit into one of the Courage Kenny Cards Art Search categories.
n• Artwork must be the original work created by the applicant.
n• Artwork does not have to be for sale; however a high quality scan of the art must be available for reproduction.
n
nENTRY REQUIREMENTS
n• Submissions are limited to eight entries per artist.
n• Digital entry only, JPEG format, 300 dpi and no more than 2100 pixels at the longest dimension. All files must be labeled with artist’s first initial and last name followed by entry number (ie, j.smith01).
n• Courage Kenny Cards will be utilizing the CallforEntry.org™, also known as CaFÉ™, an online application and adjudication system for art review. Please visit www.cafe.com to complete your application form.

nHOLIDAY ART CATEGORIES
n• THANKSGIVING – fall landscapes, leaves, pumpkins, wreaths, harvest
n• SYMBOLS OF THE SEASON – ornaments, stars, snowflakes, children of the world, doves, wreaths, decorated trees, bells and other holiday designs
n• WINTER CITY SCENES – winter holiday scenes of Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago, Main Street USA
n• RELIGIOUS CHRISTMAS – nativity scenes, three kings, Madonna and Child, Bethlehem
n• LANDSCAPES and WILDLIFE – winter trees, rivers, cardinals, chickadees, northwoods, home for the holidays scenes, nostalgic scenes

nJUDGING
n• A panel of judges from the greeting card industry reviews all entries.
n• Selected artwork will be based upon theme, artistry and imagination and marketability (will the art sell on a holiday card?).
n
nAWARDS
n• Approximately 30 pieces of art are selected each year for reproduction on holiday cards.
n• A license fee of $400 is paid to the artist for selected art.
n• Artists receive nationwide recognition through the distribution of more than 300,000 catalogs, promotional pieces, web site and other marketing. An artist photo, profile and web site link are featured on the Courage Kenny Cards web site.

nREPRODUCTION RIGHTS
n• The artist retains ownership and copyright of the artwork.
n• The artist grants Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the artwork on a Courage Kenny Card for five years.
n• The artist’s name, copyright notification and title appears on the back of each card.
n• Courage Kenny may change the title and/or add a border, design element or title to the art to create an appropriate marketable holiday card.

nHOLIDAY ART SEARCH CALENDAR
n• January 15, 2016 – application deadline
n• March 15, 2016 - notification
n• March 31, 2015 - delivery of original artwork or high quality digital image

nAbout Courage Kenny Cards
nCourage Kenny Cards are high quality holiday cards featuring original, exclusive, and museum-quality artwork, by artists of all abilities. Proceeds from the sale of these cards support rehabilitation, independent living and recreation services for people with disabilities. The first Courage Kenny Card, sent in 1958, was a two-color pencil drawing. Today, hundreds of artists submit work to our annual art search. Artists of all abilities are invited to submit designs for the 2016 collection. The art guidelines can be found on our web site www.couragekennycards.org. Thousands of Courage Kenny Cards are sent each year by businesses, organizations, and individuals. To date, our cards have raised more than $6 million.

nAbout Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute
nCourage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, part of Allina Health, was created in 2013 by the merger of Courage Center and Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. The Institute provides a continuum of rehabilitation services for people with short- and long-term conditions, injuries and disabilities in communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
