Theme: Life in North Texas – representing North Texas as a physical and cultural landscape in both temporal and abstract forms.
In an effort to further support the vibrant North Texas art community and help foster the professional growth of undergraduate art students, the Tower Gallery at the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is proud to host “Emerging Excellence”: a juried art show and gallery exhibition. The exhibition will be held from 12/1 to 12/31, with a reception for artists, collectors, the public and press. Work that has already been made or featured in previous shows will be accepted, however we encourage students to create new work, particularly with the City of Grapevine as a subject.
Participants will submit up to five works of art through the CaFE website, which will then be considered by the Grapevine CVB Art Committee for entry into the physical show. Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited, college-level art program in or near the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Once accepted, applicants will need to deliver artwork to 636 S. Main St. Grapevine, TX 76051 by 11/27/15. All accepted artwork will then be judged by our juror(s) for cash prizes of $500 for 1st Place, $300 for 2nd place, and $200 for 3rd. Accepted pieces will be exhibited in the Tower Gallery from 12/1/15 until 12/31/15, with the reception taking place at a date TBD. All artwork must be picked up by the artists by 1/8/16.
Only 2D mediums will be accepted. Selected works of art must come prepared for installation. With each online submission, please include: Artist Name, Title, Medium, and Dimensions. If part of a series, please indicate. Additionally, a loan agreement must be filled out when we (Grapevine CVB) receive the artwork. Participants may offer their works for sale, in which case each artist much submit a W-9 and list a price for each piece. The completed W-9 must be submitted to a Grapevine CVB employee when the artwork is dropped off on location. All accepted work must remain at The Convention and Visitors Bureau for the duration of the exhibition. The Grapevine CVB reserves the right to reject any work not meeting eligibility requirements or deemed inappropriate. No Nudes.
