Center for the Arts in Jackson, WY is seeking proposals from individual artists or small artist teams for The Center’s Public Spaces program. There are several optimal locations on the campus that lend themselves toward hosting installations and sculpture. This is a high visibility, high traffic opportunity, with more than 100,000 audience members attending events in and around The Center campus every year. The Center is looking for interesting work that uses the unique space in refreshing ways and offers innovative interpretations of what it means to be an artist in the intermountain west.

For 2016, The Center is seeking public art installations for The Center’s Courtyard, The Center’s Sculpture Pad and The Center Park. After evaluating submissions, the jury may decide there is an alternative space within The Center for the proposed work and will recommend locations on an individual basis.

Cutting edge public art and sculpture will be considered. Excellence, contemporary vision, technical expertise and suitability for the space are the criteria by which the jurors will make their selections. Both emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply. The artist may offer work for sale although a 30% commission and taxes will be withheld by Center for the Arts. The work must arrive at The Center ready for installation, and the artist is responsible for transporting their work to and from Center for the Arts. Stipends to cover major installation costs are available.
