2016 JUROR
FAC is pleased to announce that internationally known painter, juror, and teacher, Katherine Chang Liu will serve as the juror for the 43rd annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition. Ms. Liu was born in China and grew up in Taiwan. She received a full scholarship to U.C. Berkeley, where she earned her M.S. in science. However, she has studied art formally and informally all of her life, leading to grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Virginia Commission of Arts and Humanities. Her work can be found in over 1,100 public, private and corporate art collections and she has been featured in 40 books and 98 magazine or newspaper articles. In 2012 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Watercolor USA Honor Society.

Ms. Liu will offer a lecture in the Petersen Classroom at FAC on Sunday, July 31, 2016, 2:00pm. The lecture is free for FAC members and $5 for non-members. Additionally, Ms. Liu will lead a critique on August 1, 2016, 10:00am – 1:00pm. The critique is $27 for members, $30 for non-members, and $5 for spectators.

The 2016 Master Watercolor Workshop, Back to Basics, What Works and Why?, will be taught by Peggy Morgan Stenmark September 20-22, 2016. Master workshops tend to fill up quickly so do not wait to register.
