Call for Entries :
The Galleries of the Providence Art Club invite artists working in all media to submit their strongest two-dimensional and three-dimensional works to the Providence Art Club All Media Juried Exhibition “COLOR”. Recent works that utilize color in striking, inventive, and expressive ways are encouraged. Please visit the Cafe website (www.callforentry.org) to apply to this exhibition. 
 
Awards:           Over $3,000.00 in awards. Best in Show prize of $1,000.
 
Eligibility:       Open to living artists nationwide

Exhibition Juror:
Dominic Molon, Richard Brown Baker Curator of Contemporary Art, RISD Museum
Dominic Molon is currently the Richard Brown Baker Curator of Contemporary Art at the RISD Museum in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to joining the RISD Museum in 2013, Mr. Molon was the Chief Curator of Contemporary Art at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis in St. Louis, Missouri. Previously, he was curator and acting curatorial department head at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. He has coordinated numerous solo shows of living artists and has collaborated with numerous artists and organizations including the List Center for Visual Arts at MIT and Independent Curators International. In the words of RISD Museum Director John Smith “Over the course of his career, Dominic has earned a highly respected and admired reputation for his rigorous, wide-ranging curatorial point of view.” Mr. Molon earned his master’s degree in art history and criticism from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and his bachelor’s degree in the history of art and architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
 
 Entry Fee:
*Note: This Entry fee is for up to two images or two pieces of work. You are only required to submit one image with your entry, but you may submit up to two. For Example, you may submit two different works and upload two images (1 image per work) or you may submit a single work and upload two different images of that single work.


Rules and Regulations:  
Entries must be original artworks completed within the last four years. Submissions should utilize color in striking, inventive, and expressive ways. All works in the exhibition must be for sale (no “price on request” allowed).Works not properly prepared for installation will not be installed. Hanging apparatus must be secured to the artwork. Three-dimensional works can't be heavier than 100 lbs. The Providence Art Club reserves the right to reject works that are deemed unstable, that differ from the submitted digital image and or description of work, or that are not professionally presented. Please contact Gallery Coordinator Michael Rose with questions about preparation.
 
Sales Commission:        25% for PAC members; 40% for non-members 
 
Notification:
For entry status visit the "Call For Entries" section at www.providenceartclub.org, after 12:00pm on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Accepted artists will also be notified by mail. No phone calls please.
 
Delivery:
Accepted submissions should be delivered to the Providence Art Club, 11 Thomas Street, Providence, RI 02903 from March 25 – 31, 2016 between 12-4pm in the Dodge House Gallery.
 
Shipping:
Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist. A check for return shipping, including insurance (please ask your carrier to determine this amount), must accompany work. This check should be made out to “Providence Art Club”. If artwork cannot be repacked in original materials, additional packaging must be supplied by the artist. If packing materials and shipping payment are not included, the work will not be installed or returned.
 
Removal:
All exhibited work is to be picked up (or return shipping arrangements made) between April 25 - 29, 2016.
 
Insurance:
The Providence Art Club carries a blanket policy covering fire, theft, and breakage. The insurance value is considered 2/3 of the sale price, but no more than $250.
 
Photography / Publicity:
The Providence Art Club reserves the right to photograph work for publicity. By entering your work in the Providence Art Club All Media juried Exhibition, you agree to the use of your name, likeness, certain personal information and artwork in any publicity material developed for the exhibition.
 
Images:
Please submit at least one digital image to the cafe website (www.callforentry.org) to apply to this exhibition. You may submit a maximum of two digital images.
 
For Providence Art Club Members:
If you would like assistance applying to this exhibition please email Michael Rose, Gallery Coordinator at michael@providenceartclub.org as soon as possible to schedule a day to go over this process. The gallery staff is also available to photograph artists’ work if you need a digital image of the piece you plan on submitting. There is a $25 fee for this service.
