The Scope of Work will include the fabrication and installation of art work to to placed on the poposed  railings of the new structure.  Proposed design must be considered safe for the traveling public and should not create snagging points or obstacles that would be considered dangerous if vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians impact parapet.  Art work can be attached by utilizing the porposed railing or the base plates which anchors the railing to the oncrete parapet.  Proposed design must be approved by a City of Loveland engineer.

The site is urban in nature with sidewalks on both sides and heavily traveled with approximately 20,000 vehicles utilizing the structure every day.  The proposed bridge will be 33' long and 92' wide (four travel lanes, center turn lane, 2 bike lanes and 2 sidewalks) with a barrier on each side composed of the concrete parapet and steel railing which is a total of 3'6" high.  The main railings will be contructed of galvanized 2" steel tubes with a vertical 2" tube every 5' to connect to cencrete parapet.  The steel railing can be detached for off-site work.  Please see attached proposed structure plans for additional information. 

BUDGET:  $15,000, all inclusive
ELIGIBILITY: 
    *  Must have completed other Public Art projects
    *  Successful installations of similar scale will be considered favorably
APPLICATION PROCCESS:
     *  Submit 5-10 images of past work (made within last 10 years)
     *  Provide a resume with references
     *  Provide a brief artist statement of interest in the project and experience that may be relevant to this project.
TIMELINE:
     *  February 15: Call for Entry Open
     *  March 3:  Submissions due
     *  March 16:  (up to) three finalists notified
     *  April 6:  Artists' presentations
     *  April 12:  Winner announced
     *  May/June:  Fabrication
     *  Summer 2016:  Installation
PROCESS:
Following the review of all submissions, a selection panel, comprised of Visual Arts Commission members, Public Works employees and community members will select up to three finalists, who will be invited to view the site with selection panel representatives.

FINALISTS WILL HAVE THREE WEEKS TO PREPARE A PROPOSAL, FOR WHICH A $500 STIPEND WILL BE PROVIDED POST-PRESENTATION.
