About the Exhibition:

Whiteaker Printmakers, a community printmaking studio in Eugene, Oregon, is hosting a juried exhibition at the Emerald Arts Center in Springfield, Oregon. All print artists may submit one original print in any traditional printmaking technique.

Eligibility:

This is a juried exhibition and competition open to all print artists currently residing in the U.S., 18 or older.

Entries must be original prints, hand-pulled; no digital or photographic prints. Accepted media are all traditional printmaking techniques, such as etching, monotype, mezzotint, woodcut, linocut, screen print, lithography, etc.

Entries must be suitably framed or mounted, ready to be hung in the exhibition gallery using wire hangers. and must no larger than 24 x 24 inches, framed. Total depth of framed work should not exceed 2 inches.

Entries must include a title, or be noted as “Untitled”, and must include a medium or process description.

Accepted entries may be hand-delivered or shipped to Whiteaker Printmakers.  If shipped, pakaging must be re-usable and prepaid for return shipment.

Juror, Karen Kunc:

Constellation Studios Director Karen Kunc has exhibited and sold her artworks around the world in her more than 30 years as a professional artist. The renowned artist, teacher and mentor has established her reputation internationally in woodcut printmaking and book arts, both as a producer and teacher.

Kunc continues to serve as the Willa Cather Professor and Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she has taught since 1983. She is the founder the school’s Under Pressure Print Club — a community-based support group for UNL printmakers.

Awards:

The Juror will select four accepted entries for cash awards: a $500 first place award, a $300 second place award, and two $100 third place awards. Awards will be announced on the day of the exhibition opening. Winning artists will be notified by e-mail, and award checks will be mailed by August 8, 2016.

Sales:

All accepted entries will be offered for sale; submitting artists must include a sale price for each entry at the time of submission.

Whiteaker Printmakers and Emerald Arts Center will retain a forty percent (40%) commission on all sales.

Unsold works will be returned to the artist after the close of the exhibition.

June 27: Acceptance notification by e-mail
July 5 - 18: Artwork delivery to Whiteaker Printmakers
August 2 - 26: Exhibition
September 8:  Artwork return shipments completed
