The Kansas City Artists Coalition’s exhibitions explore the diversity of expression that shape contemporary culture, art, and ideas. KCAC is a space for innovative and experimental art, which does not readily lend itself to commercial venues. 

Applications must be of original work, completed in the last two years and not previously shown in The Artists Coalition’s Galleries. Selected proposals will be scheduled beginning in the summer of 2017. 

All media is eligible. Work requiring special installation (including large or heavy works) will be accepted ONLY IF the artist is available to install the work. 
Video artists must provide projectors for installations. Submit on here with video stills, provide a link to videos online.

MALLIN / CHARNO GALLERIES:
KCAC produces 7-8 exhibitions every year in each of these galleries. Artists are selected from an annual call for artists.

The 
Mallin Gallery is a loft type gallery with hardwood floors, track lighting and storefront windows with blinds.

12 feet – ceiling height
109 feet – linear hanging space
Suspended lighting – 9½ feet from the floor in three banks, which run the length of the gallery East to West.

The 
Jacqueline B. Charno Gallery is immediately accessible through the Mallin Gallery.

Suspended lighting – 9½ feet from the floor in three banks, which run the length of the gallery East to West.
Hardwood floors

KCAC carries Fine Art Insurance, however, artists must insure their work to and from the gallery. KCAC takes a 30% commission on works sold.

Artists will be notified when decisions have been made. All media is accepted. Work must have been completed in the past two years. Open to all artists, with a special interest in artists from the Midwest. Artists of color are also encouraged to apply.

UNDERGROUND GALLERY: 
The 
Underground Gallery is KCAC’s exclusive member’s only gallery. It is located in Mel’s ArtSpace and is accessible through the Mallin Gallery.

Lighting is attached to beams in the ceiling

80 x 36 inches – door entry size

KCAC takes a 30% commission on works sold.

KCAC makes decisions to award solo, two-person or group exhibits. Please let KCAC know about any scheduling conflicts you might have in your proposal. Artists will be notified when decisions have been made. All media is accepted. Work must have been completed in the past two years.

Only current KCAC members are eligible for an exhibition in the Underground.

Artists may also appy for a residency via this call.
