The Book Cover Exhibition celebrates the fine art of judging a book by its cover. Artists are asked to create works of art for the cover of a real or imagined book (you may or may not include the title in the artwork itself). This call is for two-dimensional work only. Artists are urged to enter work that is innovative in content or approach. Artist’s work will be displayed at the Tubac Center of the Arts and then moved to the Tucson Festival of the Book for one weekend, before returning to the Center.



Tiffinie Greer is a working artist, dancer, and actor living in Los Angeles. Her work has been shown in Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, Edinburgh, Scotland, and London.  


The Tucson Festival of the Book is one of the largest book and arts related festivals in the United States with an annual attendance of more than 130,000 visitors in two days.  Featuring a wide range of entertainment, panel discussion, and family events, the Festival attendees are highly educated, arts-centered  patrons. The Tubac Center of the Arts is an approved exhibitor at the Festival and will present art work at our Festival location. 


All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted, (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired. No saw tooth hangers. TCA reserves the right to disqualify any selected entry upon arrival that does not meet the above requirements or is deemed unsuitable for display.


Payments are made at the end of the CaFE™ entry process either via credit card online or a check mailed to the art center.


Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images in a jpg format only. Up to four works may be entered for consideration. Non-refundable fee $35 ($30 with TCA Member discount) $5 each additional entry image up to 4 entries ($3 each additional image fee with TCA Member discount)


Artists agree to release use of images of accepted works to TCA only as a permanent record of the exhibition and only for promotional use related to the exhibition and the art center. Accepted artists will be invited to submit a high resolution file of their exhibit image for consideration for use in print promotions including the exhibit postcard. Once accepted, you may email a jpeg file that is at least 300 dpi to Please include your last name and first initial along with the title in the name of the file. Example: SmithJ_PaintingTitle.jpg.


Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted. Entry must be original, entirely the work of the artist, executed within the last 24 months, and cannot have been previously shown at TCA. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibition on Sunday, February 26, 2017 including sold art.


All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a 40% commission. Price work accordingly 


Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. Unsold work will be shipped back to the artist after close of the exhibition. Artists must provide a barcoded preprinted PREPAID shipping label for the return of their artwork. Please no styrofoam peanuts, please.
