This exhibit features all manner of art from painting and photography to sculpture, collage and textiles. (Digitally altered photography is welcome.)

Art at the Center is a unique, not-for-profit gallery space that offers local, regional and national artists, both professional and amateur, an opportunity to showcase their work in the heart of Overland Park. All art is for sale, unless otherwise noted. Gallery commission and sales taxes applyClosed Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is free. 

Art at the Center Terms and Conditions
Sales and Recognition:
All work submitted must be for sale. A twenty-five percent (25%) gallery commission and sales taxes apply. All accounts will be settled within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of the exhibition. Prices of art are not subject to change once registration is submitted. Artists will receive proper attribution in the gallery based on information provided by the artist in this application. The City reserves the right to use art images for the purpose of promotion.

Conditions of Delivery:
1) Acceptance at the image judging stage does not necessarily guarantee inclusion in the exhibition.
2) Should any piece of art differ significantly from the original image entry, the piece will be disqualified from the exhibition.
3) Shipped work disqualified from the exhibition will be returned at the artist’s expense.
4) The artist will be notified if art arrives damaged. Artwork must be received ready to display.
5) Any piece that is inappropriately presented will be disqualified.
6) Shipping containers using packing peanuts will not be un-crated and will be returned to the artist.
7) Shipping containers using packing materials that can not be reused for return shipment will not be un-crated and will be returned to the artist. This exhibition recommends cut foam and specialty art boxes or crates for all transport.
8) If a work sells artist may coordinate return of packing crate with gallery manager.

The following presentation conditions apply:
1) Strip framing and saw tooth hangers are forbidden
2) Stretched canvas may be unframed only if sides are painted (gallery wrap)
3) Framed art must weigh no more than 30 lbs.
4) Hanging wire must be at least 100# weight (#3 wire)
5) When appropriate, works should be covered and/or fixed
6) Floor sculptures or pedestal works must be independently stable


Liability:
All possible care will be taken of the work submitted to the exhibition. The City of Overland Park will not assume liability for loss or damage associated with shipping. The city does insure the exhibition against loss and damage. The artist has ten (10) days to submit a written claim and three (3) bids for repair. Claims will not be considered on pre-existing conditions. Unless otherwise stated in writing, the City of Overland Park assumes permission to photograph selected artwork and/or reproduce slide images for publicity purposes. All guidelines governing the exhibition are subject to interpretation by the city’s agents. Submission of work through this application process indicates acceptance of all conditions listed in this prospectus for all exhibitions.

Gallery is located in Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell Ave. (119th & Lowell). Open daily: Mon.-Fri. 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sat. 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Center is staffed, gallery uses security measures including video surveillance.
