Photo Scanography/The Art of Scanning
Creating an image using a flatbed scanner.
March 17- April 15, 2017
Create digital images using a flatbed scanner instead of a camera.
There are many different techniques to creating scanner art. Develop your own style by arranging a composition of few or many objects directly on the flatbed scanner. Painting on the flatbed scanner is also a possibility. After the image is completed on the scanner photo editing can then be applied if you choose.
Use your creative abilities and scan something new.
Application Deadline is March 1, 2017
All entries must go through CaFÉ (callforentry.org )
Work drop off to gallery Tuesday, March 14 from 11 – 2
Shipped Artwork must arrive no later than March 14, 2017
Juror: Niza Knoll
Juror and gallery owner Niza Knoll has been making photographs and other art for many years. She has enjoyed using the scanner to experiment with creating images since 2009. She arranges items to create a pleasing compositions resulting in crisp, dramatic, undistracted images that depict the simultaneous stillness and energy of an object. She prints the resulting scans on photographic paper and presents them in a large format. She continues to explore new ways to use the flatbed scanner as a creative tool.
