Each Artist may submit up to 3 sculptures to be juried; multiple images are requested for each sculpture submitted. Because many of the sculptures will be placed in Greeley Parks, the Art Commission is looking for artwork that cannot be damaged if climbed on.
Judging is based on the originality of the piece, its durability and suitability for outdoors and safety for the public. Artwork must be more than four feet in height. Selected artists will receive $900 to cover all transportation, installation and de-installation costs. There are two additional financial opportunities for artists; one $500 People’s Choice Award will be given to the artist who receives the highest number of citizen votes at Greeley’s ‘Arts Picnic’ festival in July, and the City may purchase one or more sculptures to be added to the permanent art collection.The Greeley Art Commission will retain 30% commission on any sculpture sold.
