Entry Fee (Womens Jewelry Association Student Scholarship): $10.00
We are awarding scholarships in three different categories: 1. the Designer & Creator Category (based on images of finished pieces that are designed and created by the student), 2. the Designer Category (based on designs designed by the student, includes CAD and drawings, these pieces are not necessarily ever created), and 3. the Non-Designer Category (essay based for those studying to be a gemologist, appraiser, watch-maker, bench jeweler, or retailer).

nnWJA DESIGNER/CREATOR CATEGORY:
nnThis category is designed for those students in a studio jewelry program who can apply with finished pieces that they designed and created themselves.

nnYou are required to provide the following to support your Scholarship Application.

nn1. Essay: A short essay explaining why you wish to pursue a career in jewelry or watches and your goals/aspirations for the future.
nn
nn2. Images: (a) Three (3) digital images (no more) showing examples of your most recent work. Rank them in order of the most significant. (b) Provide a brief description of each of the numbered images indicating materials used, size of piece(s) and what is represented and/or significant about each piece.

nn3. Completed entry form. Click Apply To This Call to access and complete entry form prior to checkout. Instructions on how to format images to CaFE™ specifications can be found at Image Prep.

nnWJA DESIGNER CATEGORY:
nnThis category is designed for those students in a jewelry design program who can apply with designs of their own. These may be CAD or drawings. These are not finished pieces, but rather designs.

nnWJA NON-DESIGNER CATEGORY:
nnThis category is geared for those studying to become bench jewelers, gemologists, appraisers, retailers, and watch makers. This is essay based.

nnYou are required to provide the following to support your Scholarship Application.
nn1. Essay: This should be no more than 5000 characters, approximately 1000 words. Please answer the following questions within your essay: a. What program are you applying for assistance with? b. What motivated you to attend this program? c. Why do you think that you are deserving of a scholarship to help with this program? d. Explain why you wish to pursue a career in the jewelry or watch industries and your goals/aspirations for the future. e. How will the jewelry industry benefit from you receiving this scholarship? Remember the scholarship is based solely on this essay- it should be well written and somehow tell us how and why you deserve this above the other applicants.

nn2. Images: Not Required for the Non-Designer category. Please follow directions to upload a blank image so that your application can still be processed.
