Important dates

Submission Deadline: Friday, July 28, 2017 11:59 PM, Mountain Time.

Selection notice: Monday, August 21, 2017.

Delivery of artwork: Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Exhibition Opening Reception & Awards: Friday, September 22, 2017, 5:30 to 7PM.

Pick up art work: Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 10 AM to 2 PM.


Entry Form, Fee and Deadline

For each submitted work please include: The title of the work, medium, price, year completed, and the framed size for 2D or dimensions for 3D/sculpture.

Applications, fees and images must be received by CaFÉ on or before Friday, July 28, 2017 by 11:59 PM Mountain Time to be considered. No applications, images or fees will be accepted after the deadline or by mail.  Please contact Jennifer at 772-287-6676 ext 2 or jhearn@martinarts.org for questions or help applying.

 

Artwork and Digital Images

2D and 3D original work in all media completed in the last 36 months and not previously exhibited at the Court House Cultural Center, The Elliott Museum, or any other local art exhibit.

Giclees will be accepted in photography only.


2D work must be properly framed with wire attached for hanging, using plexi-glass only, no glass. Gallery wrapped canvases with finished edges are acceptable.  Maximum framed width to be no larger than 60".  3D work limited to 70 lbs maximum weight.

Include dimensions of framed work: (H__” x W__” x D__”) **Specify the framed size for 2D work.

Write a detailed description of the medium for all work.

Images must conform to CaFÉ guidelines. For more information on image preparation visit the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org/media prep. 

 
Payments and Fees

A non-refundable entry fee of $40.00 for up to three (3) entries.  A maximum of three (3) entries may be submitted per artist.

The Arts Council of Martin County member artists receive a $5 discount – please call Jennifer Hearn, 772.287.6676 ext 2, Monday - Friday 10am-4pm to get the Member Artist Code.

Shipped Artwork 

Ship to: The Arts Council, Inc, 80 SE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, FL 34994.

 Artists are responsible for shipping and insuring their work. Shipped work must be insured during transport and sent in reusable containers. All claims for artwork damaged in shipment are the responsibility of the artist and shipper. The Arts Council provides insurance coverage for artwork on its property from date of delivery to the day artwork is picked up, Wednesday, November 15, 2017. 
Artists are financially responsible for arranging the return of any unsold artwork. Artists must send a pre-paid return shipping label in original package or by email before the close of the exhibit that includes all fees (the shipper's pick-up fee and the return shipping fee).
 Use FedEx for return shipping of artwork.  

 Artwork Pick Up

Artists are responsible for making necessary arrangements to pick up their artwork. The Arts Council will not be responsible for unclaimed artwork after Wednesday, November 15, 2017. 

Sales  

A 20% donation benefiting the Arts Council, Inc. will be deducted from all sales.

Awards 

First $500, Second $200, Third $100 and up to four Honorable Mentions $50.

Juror

Sharon Lee Hart is a DC born visual artist with a practice primarily focused on photography, works on paper, and a developing interest in book arts. She earned her BFA from Maine College of Art and MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hart maintains a studio in South Florida, where she is the head of the photography program and an Assistant Professor of Art at Florida Atlantic University.
