The theme of the 2017 Roslyn Art Fest Juried show is 'Out of My Window.' The goals of the festival are to promote art and artists, encourage appreciation of the historical qualities of Roslyn Washington and support local businesses.  The show is sponsored by RTown Community and organized by the RTown Art Festival Committee. Proceeds from fees and commissions will be used to plan and promote future art events in Roslyn.

Roslyn Art Festival Juried Art Show
The Roslyn Art Fest Juried Art Show emphasizes visual arts. The juried show invites submissions of photographs, two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. Awards will be given in those three categories.  Maximum size of both two-and three-dimensional art is 36” x 36”.  The deadline for submissions is July 1, 2017.
Juried art will be displayed from August 6 through August 31 in Basecamp Books and Bites. Works sold while displayed will be charged a 40% commission. All items must be available for sale. There will be additional art shows by individual artists in downtown Roslyn businesses.
 
Friday Night Show Opening
The Event will open with a reception on Friday, August 4 from 7:00 to 9:30 in Basecamp Books and Books.   Winners of art awards will be announced that evening. During the reception, for a mere $20, guests can buy a ticket for the Wine Grab. Wine Grab ticket holders choose a bottle as they check out of the event that evening. Bottles of wine will be anonymous and beautifully presented in paper bags decorated by local artists. Wines may be worth up to $65.

“TRY-IT” Art for Families & Youth
The RTown Community along with community parents will host a number of “TRY-IT” art stations in Roslyn during the Festival. TRY-IT stations in the past have offered mini-workshops in clay creations, hat making, water color and rubber stamp making. All children and adults are welcome to participate.  Artist-at-Work/ Plein Air Exhibitions  and sales

 Local artists will be painting and drawing on the streets of Roslyn on Saturday.

2017 Roslyn Farmers Market

Stay the night and enjoy the August 6 Roslyn Farmers Market from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday. Local produce and a range of foods and crafts will be available to over 65 booths. The Market draws over 3,200 visitors each Sunday. Artists are encourage to rent a space during the Market. Information is available at roslynfarmersmarket.org.

Roslyn is an historic town nestled among the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains at 2200 feet and the gateway to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area.  Built on coal mining and logging, this small rural town retains much of the original architecture. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated as a National Historic District in 1978.
