The 2017 Juried Fine Arts Exhibition will be dedicated to 2D and relief work (that can be exhibited on walls)*.  The exhibit will be presented in the Bonfield Gallery from October 21, 2017 through January 6, 2018. The opening reception, open to CTAC members, exhibiting artists, and their guests, will be on Saturday, October 21, from 2-4 pm. Awards will be announced at the opening.  The entry deadline is August 27, 2017. The artist and teacher, Patrick Wise, is the juror. Cash Awards: 1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place: $500, 3rd Place: $250

*The 2018 Juried Fine Arts Exhibition will include 3D work.

• Notification of acceptance will be sent by email no later than:  September 3, 2017

Eligibility

The 2017 Juried Fine Arts Exhibition is open to all Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ontario residents, and to members of the Crooked Tree Arts Center. Applicants must be 18 years or older, working in 2D and relief (that can be exhibited on walls).

Entry Procedure

Entry is through caFE. Artists can either go directly to café, or go to crookedtree.org between June 5 – August 27, 2017. If you go through the Crooked Tree Arts Center website, go to the “Artists” tab and drop down to “Calls for Artists”, and click on “Juried Fine Arts 2017” You will be redirected to the “CaFÉ”. (CallForEntry.Org) platform. You must create a username and password to use this system. Once you have an account with “CaFÉ”, you can upload your images for this and other calls. Here are some guidelines:

• Digital images must be per standard CaFÉ specifications:
• File format: JPEG only
• File dimensions: No smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side
• File size: 5 MB maximum

•  Please make sure that your email address is accurate. You will receive an email notification in regards to acceptance no later than September 3, 2017.

•  Artists must complete the entry form including medium or description of process, title, size and price of the work.
• All accepted artwork must be for sale.  You may not alter the price of work after submitting your application.  CTAC uses this information to create labels in advance of the show and will not recreate labels or make price modifications.
•  You may not enter work for another artist.
• All 2D and relief media will be accepted
•  All work must be original.
•  Each artist may submit maximum of two images.
•  Works must not have been previously exhibited at Crooked Tree Arts Center.
•   Works must be properly framed, wired and or ready for hanging.
•  A non-refundable fee of $40.00 per artist is required for entry (CTAC members $20.00). Artwork Delivery and Pick-Up

Shipped Work: Artists are responsible for the delivery and pick-up of their work. Shipped work must be adequately packed for shipping. Any work to be shipped back to the artist must include re-usable packaging and a pre-paid shipping label. There is a handling cost of $25 per artist for shipped work. If the work is hand delivered and picked up at the end of the show this fee does not apply. Make checks payable to: Crooked Tree Arts Center.

•  Work must be delivered between October 4-11, 2017.  Please attach a legible identification label to each piece, clearly labeled with artist contact information, title, media/process and price.
• Work may NOT be removed until after the close of the show. The first day for pick up is Monday, January 8, 2017.

Commission

• The retail price of the work may not be changed after submitting the works to jury.
• Crooked Tree Arts Center will retain a 40% commission on any work sold from the exhibition. The artist will receive 60% of the retail price.
• Purchased work may not be removed from the gallery before March 23, 2017.
• Payment for sales will be made on the 10th of the month following the deinstallation of the exhibition.

Liability

All reasonable care will be taken with artwork. However, CTAC or volunteers will not be responsible for loss or damage to artwork. CTAC suggests that participants carry separate insurance.

Reproduction

Permission is granted to CTAC for reproduction of artwork for catalog and/or advertising purposes. Entry into exhibition constitutes agreement with this understanding.
