Wax Stories II

Niza Knoll Gallery in Denver, Colorado, is pleased to invite artists who incorporate encaustic in their art making, to submit their work for a juried exhibit; Wax Stories 2. This is the second biennial exhibition of Wax Stories. We loved the fascinating stories and marvelous art we got in the first regional exhibit in 2015. We were encouraged, by many of you, to do it again, and to do it nationally. We found that artists love their wax. Please submit your best pieces and tell us your stories.

The exhibition will open November 3, 2017 and run through the holiday season until January 6, 2018. It is a great time to get your art shown in Denver’s fabulous Art District on Santa Fe. Submissions will be juried by a blind juried method.

Please note that the entry fee is $35.00 for 1 to 3 entries.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to Best of Show, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Best of Show, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be honored with a four week group exhibition, Best Stories, at the Niza Knoll Gallery in Denver in 2018.

The Wax Stories exhibition will be juried by Patricia Aaron
www.patriciaaaron.com
Patricia Aaron is an award winning contemporary abstract painter. Aaron’s work has evolved to draw direct inspiration from her travels through the culture, language and customs of the environment and habitat in which she resides as an artist resident. Aaron has held artist residency fellowships in France, Iceland, Hawaii, Virginia, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.

Aaron uses the malleability of pigmented wax to create lustrous, uniquely beautiful abstract surfaces. Each piece is textured and layered upon, building a captivating, tactile surface with expressive depth. Her use of vivid colors, bold lines and daring composition continues to evolve, resulting in ever-more dynamic, distinctive work.

Aaron’s work has been featured in solo museum and airport exhibitions as well as invitational gallery exhibits throughout the United States, and featured in both regional and national publications. Her work is held in numerous US, UK, European and Japanese private, corporate, and museum collections.

In 2017 Aaron will exhibit her paintings in three solo exhibits, Giving Way to Still, at Globe Gallery in Santa Fe, NM; Raw at Space Gallery in Denver, CO; Wyoming Impressions at IMA in Denver, CO. In addition, Aaron was recently commissioned by The Museum of Outdoor Arts to create new work for Sculpture in the Garden located at Fiddler’s Green in Greenwood Village. Aaron teaches as an Adjunct Professor at University of Denver, Denver, CO.
