PVAC HOLIDAY  JURIED ART SHOW

December 8–31, 2017

Juried All-Media Exhibition hosted by and open for submission only to Members of Palos Verdes Art Center.

JUROR: Ruth Weisberg, an artist and Professor of Fine Arts at U.S.C., where she is also Former Dean of the U.S. C. Roski School of Art and Design.

ONLINE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, October 27, 2017

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES: 3

TAKE-IN of selected works: Saturday, December 2, 2017 between 9am and noon

OPENING RECEPTION: 6–9pm, Friday, December 8, 2017. Juror’s Walk-Through for Participating Artists, 5–6pm.

CLOSE OF SHOW PICK UP: Tuesday, January 2, 2018 between 9am and noon.

ONLINE SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

·      Go to www.callforentry.org

·      Create a CaFE artist profile (FREE)

·      In Adobe Photoshop or any image software that allows image resizing, reduce images of artwork to be submitted to 72dpi, less than 5MB and no smaller than 1920 pixels on longest side.

·      Upload to your profile up to three images of each 3D artwork to be submitted and one  image for each painting or drawing (2D artwork) to be submitted.                             

·      Apply to artist call “PVAC Holiday Show”

·      Image instructions for applying to PVAC Holiday Show, 3D artwork: You may enter up to three images of EACH artwork submitted.

·      Image instructions for applying to PVAC Holiday Show, 2D artwork: Please enter only one image of EACH artwork.

Juror selected artwork must be hand delivered to PVAC Main Gallery on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 9am to noon. NO EARLY DELIVERIES. ALL WORK MUST BE DELIVERED ON THE ABOVE DATE.

SIZE LIMIT AND FRAMING

{C}·      Maximum size 50 x 60 in., including frame, for two-dimensional work, including diptychs / triptychs. Weight not to exceed 30 pounds.

{C}·      Maximum size 72 x 36 x 36 in. for three-dimensional works. Weight not to exceed 150 pounds.

{C}·      No damaged frames. Frames must be in good condition.

{C}·      All two-dimensional work must be ready to hang with wire attached.

{C}·      Unframed paintings with wrap-around canvas at least 1 1/2 inch of depth allowed, but edges must be painted. Canvases that are not wrap-around or thinner than 1 1/2 inches must be framed.

{C}·      Exhibition organizers reserve the right to refuse artwork that does not meet with requirements, even if accepted by the juror.

FEES

{C}·      $35 up to three entries (nonrefundable) onsite by credit card, or deliver check payable to PVAC to front desk of Palos Verdes Art Center.

{C}·      PVAC will take a 25% commission on all sales of exhibited works

INSURANCE

Coverage applies only to duration of exhibition. PVAC carries no earthquake insurance. Artwork must remain in the exhibition through Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
