The R.G. Endres Gallery  annual juried Protography competition held every January. The Exhibition runs during the month of January with a gala reception on January 12th, 2018. 

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all photographers, 18 years of age or older, whose submitted works are created independent of any supervision.

Awards:
     Three "Best of Catagory" awards at $250.00 and six "Honorable Mention" awards at $100.00.

  2. Landscapes and Architecture
  3. Abstract / non-traditional / photo-collage/ highly digitally enhanced.
Any image that does not fit clearly into the first 2 categories will be put into the 3rd category.

2018 Show Timeline:

     Submissions Open:        Wednesday, September 20th, 2017
     Submissions Deadline:    Monday, November 20th, 2017
     Initial selection by Juror:  Tuesday, November 21st, 2017
     Notification of Finalist:     Tuesday, November 28th, 2017
     Deadline for receipt of shipped works:  Wednesday, December 27th, 2017
     Deadline for receipt of hand deliverd works: Friday, December 29th, 2017
     Exhibit installation:           Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018
     Adjudication of awards:    Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018
     Awards Gala:                    Friday, January 12th, 2018
     Show removal:                  Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

ENTRY DETAIL
Nine entries are allowed.  Artist may enter all three catagories but only one entry per catagory per artist will be accepted for the show. ( It is possible for one artist to have three works in the show. One in each category.) Entry fee for one image is $30.00, each additional image is $5.00.  Fees are non-refundable. A diptych or triptych can be submitted as one entry as long as it meets the same requirements as a single entry and is photographed as one entry during submission. The final round of adjudication will be after installation of the show. Only the actual piece will be adjudicated in the final round. Late pieces will not be considered.

Accepted artwork must be matted. The mat must fit into a standard size frame: 11" X 14", 16" X 20", 20" X 24", 12" X 36" or 24" X 36". A diptych or tritych must fit into one frame.

The Sales Commission to the Gallery is 40%. All work MUST be for sale . Prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission to the show is made.

Receipt of work: 
Matted images can be delivered by hand or can be sent to the Prairie Village Arts Council, 7700 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208 between December 18th, 2017  and December 29th, 2017. Mailed works must include a postage paid return label. Any mailed works that do not include a postage paid return label will not be returned.  If artists fails to deliver their accepted work to the gallery, they will forfeit their right to be in the 2018 show and will not be considered for the exhibit in the following 2 years. Hand delivered images accepted in the show and not sold, are to be picked up on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 during the hours of noon till 5PM only. Any Artwork unclaimed 30 days after the date of exhibition closing will become property of the Prairie Village Arts Council. Mailed works will be sent back February 1st. 2018. Any mailed work not containing a prepaid return label will become the property of the Prairie Village Arts Council.

Our Juror:

Adam Finkelston

Adam Finkelston is an artist, publisher, and educator based in Roeland Park, KS. He has shown his art work in solo exhibitions in Kansas City, MO as well as group and juried exhibitions throughout the United States and internationally.

In addition to making his own art work, Mr. Finkelston is also the owner, publisher and co-editor of the quarterly photography and printmaking magazine, http://www.thehandmagazine.spaceHe and magazine co-editor, James Meara, have also curated gallery exhibitions for The Hand Magazine at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO and A1LabArts Gallery in Knoxville, TN. For a complete list of exhibitions, publications, and curatorial work, please see the CV below
