Calling Ohio artists who are interested in participating in a dynamic painting battle.
Put your creativity head to head against other artists in an Iron Chef-style art competition. Artists will have 2 ½ hours to compete a painting representing one of the sponsored still life’s that will be set up during K12 Gallery & TEJAS’s 7th Annual Art Off Competition & Fundraiser.
The live painting competition will showcase 18 artists who will paint live!
K12 Gallery & TEJAS will be transformed into an arena where competitors armed with materials and their own creativity fight to the last standing. Three winners will be chosen based on the finished artwork. First place will receive $250 cash prize, second place $150 and third place $100. All three winners will also receive a coveted “knot award”~ a hand forged metal trophy created by renowned artist Hamilton Dixon (each valued at over $1,000).
All paintings will be auctioned off in a silent auction during the event.
Artists interested in participating are asked to include one to three images of recent paintings, in a style that they anticipate working from the night of the event.
Competitors will be allowed to come two hours before the start time of the event in order to select a pre-framed and pre-primed painting surface, select a spot and easel to work from, and in order to begin preliminary sketches.
The Art Off Competition will take place on Saturday, November 4th from 6:00-8:30pm.
Only artists residing in Ohio and over the age of 18 are eligible to participate.
