LA Artcore (LAAC) is pleased to announce our 2nd Annual Online Photographic
Competition and Exhibition!

The Exhibition in February 2018 will kickoff the celebration of LA Artcore’s 39 years of supporting contemporary art and developing the careers of visual artists of diverse cultural backgrounds. This competition seeks outstanding photography completed in the last two years that follow the guidelines listed below.

Exhibition:
60 juror selected images will be exhibited at LA Artcore's historic downtown
gallery in The Los Angeles Brewery Arts Colony, one of the oldest and largest
live-work spaces in the world. Covering 23 acres in 14 buildings , 500-700 artists
and businesses call The Brewery Arts Colony their home.

Entry Fee: $35.00 for 3 entries, additional entry $10.00 ea. up to 5 entries.
By credit card through the CAFE application: (Checks can be sent to LA Artcore

Awards: As determined by our jury panel, cash awards will be given; $1000
(1st Place) $500 (2nd Place) $250 (3rd Place) and 2 Honorable Mentions

Eligibility:
The 2018 LA Artcore Online Photographic Competition is open to all amateur and
professional photographers over the age of 18, residing in North America,
working in all still photographic media. There is no theme: any subject matter is
eligible. All work must have been completed on or after January 1, 2016, and not
previously entered in this competition. LAAC staff and Board Members are not
eligible.

Up to five wall-mounted works not exceeding 60" in width, 72" height, 24" in
depth and 30 lbs. in weight. Works that are sent unmounted will not be accepted. No video or audio at this time

Jurors:

Gregg Cobarr – is a world –renowned entertainment/celebrity and fashion
photographer with over forty years of professional experience. His photography is
in the permanent collection of LACMA and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Gregg holds a MFA from CalArts. He is a Senior Instructor of Education for

Jane Szabo – Los Angeles based fine art photographer with a MFA from Art
Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Widely-exhibited international
photographic artist with a background in the film industry. Her work merges her
love for fabrication and materials, with conceptual photography.

Bob FrancisBob Francis – Former Senior VP, Creative Director with Rubin Postaer & Associates, and a former faculty member, Photography - Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA. Using his extensive background in graphic design and advertising as a foundation, Bob creates stunning post-modern botanical photography.

Notification and Delivery of Artwork:
Artists will be notified via email of their results, by Thursday, Dec. 21st, 2017
Art delivery Period (If Accepted): January 25-31st, 2018, between 12 and 5

Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance (during shipping) of
artworks. All shipments must include a prepaid UPS/FedEx return label and be
shipped in a container appropriate for re-use in return shipping. For hand carried
deliveries and pickups, the LA Artcore Brewery Annex is open Thursday through
Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m. PLEASE INCLUDE AN ENVELOP WITH A PRINT-OUT
AND FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE ARTWORK INCLUDED, INCLUDING
PRICE.
Any work left at the Brewery gallery 5 days after the close of the exhibition will be
subject to a $10 per day storage fee. Any work left at the Brewery Gallery for
more than two weeks is subject to sale or disposal without notification.
Artworks will be handled carefully and displayed in a secure gallery. LA Artcore
reserves the right to photograph artworks in the exhibition for publicity and
educational purposes. The gallery does not discriminate with regard to race,
color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or veteran status.
COMMISSION - LA Artcore will retain 35% of all sales; artwork selected by LA
Artcore for exhibition must be available for sale.

October 15 - Call opens on CaFE'
December 01 - 9pm Pacific Time - Call Closes
December 07-18 - Start of online Judging
December 19-21 - Artists are notified of their results
January 25-31 - Deadline for receiving all requested artwork.  
January 30 - Gallery installation at the Brewery Annex
February 01 - Gallery Final Judging at the Brewery Annex
February 11- Exhibit Opening Reception 1-3 p.m. - Awards at 2 p.m.
February 27 - Exhibition Closes

DID YOUR WORK SELL? 
If a piece of your work sold, please observe LA Artcore's commission structure of 35% suggested donation to LA Artcore and 65% to the artist.
