CONDITIONS:  Artists may submit a maximum of three works. Entries must be of original design and personal execution, and created in the past three years. Works cannot have been exhibited at the Huntington Museum of Art in the past three years. The Huntington Museum of Art reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet the requirements. Work may be disallowed if it is not suitably prepared for exhibition, was not adequately represented by submitted images, or was entered by an artist that resides outside of the allowed states of WV, OH, KY, VA, PA, and MD. Accepted artwork may not be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition September 16, 2018.

All work must be suitably prepared for exhibition with proper supports, hanging devices, and clear instructions for installation. Paintings must be framed or have museum finished edges. Works on paper must be matted under plastic glazing, not glass.

Works will be exhibited in a gallery designed by Walter Gropius with poured concrete ceilings; therefore, no ceiling-suspended objects can be accommodated. Height limit: 9 feet. Weight limit: 500 lbs. Installations, computer-based and video works must be accompanied by all materials required for presentation. Straight-projection video works (those with no installation component) will be shown looped with other accepted video works in the gallery.

At the close of the exhibition, hand-delivered works may be picked up between Monday, September 17, 2018 and Sunday, September 23, 2018. These works must be removed from the Museum by September 23, 2018. Any hand-delivered work not claimed by this date automatically becomes the property of Huntington Museum of Art.

A check or shipping label for return shipping and insurance to and from your address is the artist’s responsibility. HMA is not responsible for works damaged in transit. Shipped works will be sent out by October 1, 2018.

An insurance value must be declared for all artwork entered. The Huntington Museum of Art will insure against all risks of physical loss or damage from any external cause while on location during the period of the loan.
