SYNChronicity
Exhibition Overview
SYNChronicity is a juried exhibition designed to give artists an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in an elegant setting in an established art gallery. This exhibition will be juried by Doug Kacena, Director and Co-owner of K Contemporary gallery located in Denver. SYNChronicity is organized by SYNC Gallery.
Exhibition location: SYNC Gallery - 931 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204
SYNC Gallery was formed as a cooperative gallery in 2009 by a group of artists interested in having a strong presence in Denver’s Santa Fe Art District. The gallery exhibits a variety of contemporary abstract and conceptual works by a collective of emerging and established artists. SYNC Gallery has become a destination for art lovers. It is located in the Art District on Santa Fe Drive in Denver which is known for its vibrant art scene.
Exhibition Juror: Doug Kacena
Doug Kacena is a strong supporter of the Colorado arts community. As well as being a talented and recognized artist, Doug conceived the ground-breaking exhibition “Crossover” which was featured in the March/April edition of Art Ltd and is the subject of an upcoming PBS special. He has also excelled as the Director and Co-owner of K Contemporary gallery located in the heart of Denver’s LoDo district. K Contemporary represents emerging and established international artists. Its focus has been to present experimental exhibitions. K Contemporary is a member of Denver Art Dealers Association (DADA) and is a partner in the 1412 Gallery Collective.

March 2, 2018 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm: First Friday artists’ reception
March 10, 2018 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm: pick-up of unsold artwork

Eligibility
~ All artists aged 18 and over are eligible.
~ All accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to and picked up from SYNC Gallery. Artists outside of the Denver metro area must take this into consideration when applying.
~ Artists may submit a maximum of 3 individual works of art.
~ Awards - Best in Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, will be determined and presented by the juror during the Opening Reception on February 16, 2018.
~ No telephone inquiries please.
Exhibition Guidelines
~ Only original works of art will be accepted.
~ All work must be suitably framed or ready for installation.
~ All 2-D and 3-D media, styles and techniques are eligible.
~ Audio and Video media is not eligible.
~ All work must have been created within the last 2 years.
~ Two-dimensional work must not exceed 36” in the horizontal dimension, including the frame and must not weigh more than 10 pounds.
~ All two-dimensional work, framed or unframed, must be wired and ready to hang. Work with sawtooth hangers will not be accepted.
~ Three-dimensional work designed to be displayed on a pedestal must not exceed 18” in diameter. Please note if a pedestal is needed.
~ Three-dimensional work designed to be displayed on the floor must not exceed 36” in diameter and must not weigh more than 50 pounds.
~ Three-dimensional work designed to be suspended from the ceiling must not exceed 36” in diameter and 84” in length and must not weigh more than 20 pounds.
~ Installation of three-dimensional work must be coordinated with the curator.
Sales
~ SYNC Gallery will conduct all sales, collect sales tax and handle all associated fees.
~ SYNC Gallery will retain a 30% commission on all sales.
~ Payment for sold artwork will be mailed on March 19, 2018. No early payments will be made.
How To Enter
~ Entries will only be accepted through the CaFE online system.
~ The deadline for entries is January 31, 2018 at midnight MST.
~ Artists may enter up to 3 works of art.
~ The entry fee is $35 for up to 3 artworks. All fees are nonrefundable.
~ Submissions must include the following:
~ Artworks will be handled carefully and displayed in a secure gallery.
~ SYNC Gallery does not discriminate with regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or veteran status.
Delivery and Pick-up of Work
~ Artists are responsible for delivering or arranging for the delivery and pick-up of their work during the designated dates and times. All accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to and picked up from SYNC Gallery. Artists residing outside of the Denver metro area must take this into consideration when applying.
~ Work can be delivered to SYNC Gallery on February 12 & 13, 2018 from 1:00 - 5:00 each day.
~ All unsold artwork can be picked up from SYNC Gallery on March 10, 2018 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm or March 11, 2018 from Noon - 4:00 pm.
