About the Juror:
W. Dorsey Taylor, Jr., owner of LinDor Arts in Roanoke, Virginia, has been an active participant in the region’s arts community for nearly 50 years.  He first founded the Dorsey Gallery in Roanoke, Virginia in 1972 and he and his wife Linda have been actively buying and selling original artwork ever since.  By 2009, they had built up a tremendous collection of hundreds of pieces, more than 450 of which were in storage, prompting them to open LinDor Arts in downtown Roanoke that year.  The gallery focuses on original works by regional artists and offers art and full custom-framing services to corporations, non-profits and residential patrons.  Taylor has also served on the Advisory Board of the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University in Roanoke for the past four years, and was the curator for an art book from the Carilion Clinic Collection, which was published in 2017.

While owning and managing the Dorsey Gallery from 1972 – 1982, he also founded and grew Roanoke Moulding Design, which offered custom-framing moulding and supplies and offered wholesale framing services to artists, decorators and others in the industry, with locations in Roanoke, Charlotte, NC, and Baltimore, MD.  After 34 years in business, RMD was sold to another wholesaler and Taylor went back to being a gallery owner, opening the aforementioned LinDor Arts in Roanoke, Virginia.

Taylor was born in Norfolk, Virginia but has called Roanoke home since 1960.  He has studied Commercial and Fine Arts, and has experience as an illustrator for the military as well as doing freelance commercial artwork.  He and his wife of fifty years, Linda, have three grown daughters, five grandchildren and one dog.
